Hey guys, I have decided to try and help out the community by writing some guides to some of my personal favorite thief playstyles! I’ll be using the guide function found on intothemists.com and will probably supplement some of the guides with some videos with commentary/breakdown of whats going on. I tried a very similar build previously, however the problem with PW is retaliation, you can pretty much kill yourself.

If I can ill strip the retaliation with a steal, but it i can’t ill use the stun on pistol whip a d interrupt the flurry to use auto attack instead

Tessa is pretty cool. I dueled him/her one day for about 20 minutes. We were pretty 50/50 on the wins and we figured out we pretty much run the same build. Tessa has a lot more emphasis on shortbow and I mainly stick to the sword/pistol. Tessa is definitely a player I respect and I didn’t mean to take any of their glory. I actually didn’t know Tessa had a guide up before your post

Edit: I checked out the guide and the builds are indeed almost identical. Tessa has 2 different traits and 1 different utility.

Well, the last patch really put this build in a good place, so it doesn’t surprise me to see this happen. I think a lot of people still really underestimate S/P since it was all, but forgotten since back when Pistol Whip was first nerfed.

Personally, I love this build. I tend to prefer sword builds as it is and the high uptime on stuns/dazes gives this build a lot of utility while also allowing it to dish out some great dps.

I’ve looked closer into your build and I see more differences now, such as the 20 point trait in CS, sigils, and utility skills. I never really thought about Sigil of Para before, honestly, but I could see how it works well with this build. Does it work with Basilisk’s?

Jumper is really the reason I started to use this build. I wanted to play a sword thief very badly after watching some videos of jumper, so I tried out his build and absurdly hated sword/dagger. So I threw on a pistol offhand and made the build in the guide. Sword is a blast to play and with all the steal related buffs in the last patch i decided I had to give those a try with sword pistol and I fell in love with the 10/30/0/0/30 build

It doesn’t fit my play style very well, although it’s arguably our best weapon set for tpvp.
