[EU] Gandara
(edited by SpaceCowboy.1398)
Hi,
I’m returning to the game for the expansion and I had a chance to try out Daredevil during the beta weekends. Now that P/P gets access to stealth via Black Powder + Bounding Dodger, I wanted to get more condition damage into my build.
So, I was trying choose gear where I could get some good stats for Power, Crit Chance, Condition Damage, and Health. This build is for PvE, world and dungeons. I don’t know if there are better combinations to achieve better stats, or if maybe I should consider going for more Condition Damage over Power?
Here’s the build I currently have:

I play rather casually, so it takes me a while to gather gear up and I want to invest wisely. Thanks for any advice!

It’s for PvE?! Then I dont see a big problem with the build since it should be more about what you like to play. I really dont like the runes but i guess you are taking them solely to get around quicker. I also dont get why you are going for the hybrid dmg with condi in it since p/p and bow arent the strongest condi applier.
100% sinister. They give condi primary and pow/crit secondary. You get a full ascended sinister trinket set from Living Story achievements, and can use rampager dugeon gear if you can’t afford to make sinister armor/weapons. You don’t need extra hp since you’ll have plenty of dodges, stealth, and sustain from signet.
I usually run all carrion on thief condi builds, but in places where the extra HP is less useful I often swap out by backpack or jewelry for some sinister pieces for a little extra damage.
Carrion will generally put you in a nice place though. You’ll have around 20k HP, which is enough to not be oneshot by most heavy attacks even without any toughness, and you’ll still have great condi damage and good white damage on top of it.
If you’re investing in the critical strikes line, crit chance becomes a lot more important, but if you’re not it’s a mostly wasted stat past the 10% or so crit rate you need to proc sigils on cooldown.
Having so much in your condition damage is going to limit the effectiveness of your Invigorating Precision.
If your a “ranged thief” you shouldn’t need caltrops you would be better served with shadows refuge or ambush trap which would both add to your defensive abilities and offensive as well
would choose lotus training over bounding in which case you could ditch caltrops and (arguably) impairing daggers while still having the same utility. lotus also has better synergy with signet of malice than bounding.
would suggest either signet of agility (and spam louts daggers) or infiltrators signet to spam unload more often depending on your preference AOE or single target damage respectively.
Hope this helps
Cheers,
P/P and SB seems so mixed to me between being power and condition damage, given skills like Cluster Bomb, Choking Gas, Vital Shot, and Sneak Attack. So, this is my attempt to make the most out of both damage types.
I also wanted to get a high enough precision so that Ankle Shots, Invigorating Precision, and other on crit effects trigger often. I thought 50% should do it.
However, maybe I should consider dropping the Critical Strikes line for Deadly Arts and not go beyong a 10% crit chance as PopeUrban suggests. I just like the idea of leeching health with Invigorating Precision and Signet of Malice.
Sinister gear also sounds like a great idea, however I think I would still like so stats towards vitality, as conditions can be difficult to shed as a Thief. I don’t think going full glass would suit my playstyle (or ability for that matter)!
Thanks all!
