Ok, but to balance this quite powerful technique, an aftercast should be added. During this, the sound effect “My revenge is complete, old master!” plays while a picture of tybalt Leftpaw appears in the sky (depending on needed adjustments, the aftercast could be extended by a flute/shamisen tune).

I actually like the name Pulmonary strike.

If it’s a “PULMONARY” strike then why do we need to change the name to something that has to do with a heart.. ? Is this a trend? A wants to change the Daredevil name, now B wants to change Pulmonary Strike?

That’s the point… it was meant to look retro. It succeeded and was awesome. So was Death Proof and Planet Terror.

Wowowow, calm down. We know what you want your Thief to be, don’t worry, you’ll get it, no need to lose your kitten in there. Still, it’s advisable to try to not rain over other people’s parade by shoving your own parade down other people’s throats, especially for a name. For my part I wanted my Thief to have a bit more elegance and substance than being some insane action movie hero but eh, whatever.

and the jagged blade pulls stuff out as you pull the blade out of the body

last i checked, brute force causes more bruises than serious dmg.

The helmets only bent because the dummy is rigid — that’s like someone is trying to headbutt an incoming hammer. lol.

If that helmet is on a person, the body will react to the impact and will naturally cushion it by moving the head away from the impact point. That’s how heavily armored knights survive back in those times.

The only real value of hammer or any blunt weapons is to topple or knock down a heavy armored knight where it would be impossible for the knight to get up. Staves are mainly used for tripping and disarming. Blunt weapons are used for their stopping power, not for dealing damage — critical or otherwise.

I’d suggest some research. Many blunt weapons are only blunt, relatively, compared to swords and such but even with their blunt status, they often have pointed edges or corners meant to dig, dent, destroy armor. Armor’s existence is to provide a layer of protection to deflect blades but arrows and spears could still puncture areas and no historical armor could protect its wearer from blunt force trama such as falling off horses, being trampled or being struck hard enough with a hammer or mace.

And as a practitioner of a few staff styles, I can tell you the deadly part of using a staff is how easy they can build and manipulate momentum. Without requiring a heap of strength, you can strike very precisely, very fast and very hard with a staff. Depending on the style of staff used (metal tipped or bamboo heft) the very end of the staff can be the equivalent of a heavier hammer if you consider how fast a hammer is swung + the required momentum it needs to strike with its full potential. Reason being, the staff is longer thus further from the fulcrum (your hand) and thus the force it can apply is greater.
