Guild Wars 2

I haven’t played in quite some time and I’m coming back to give my thief a go.

He’s only level 20 so I have a lot to learn but I had a few questions:

1. Are thieves a viable PVE & World Encounter option for melee or do you have to resort to shortbow?

2. Any suggested threads to read up on for leveling, gear, spec advice?

3. Are thieves at least middle tier in PvP? I don’t want an OP class but I don’t want to return to a completely broken one for my return experience either

4. What is your favorite combo/trick/thing you do with your thief that makes you enjoy them that much more?

First off, welcome back! Let’s see how well I can answer these…

1) They are but part of it is knowing the encounter. I have a hard time meleeing bosses that I’ve not fought before and sometimes resort to shortbow if there’s a ton of people around (lag, screen clutter). Kessex is a good example of where at first I’d shortbow or P/P like crazy until eventually I figured out the bosses to where I could reliably backstab and survive.

3) I, honestly, haven’t done PvP in GW2 yet but if you look around the forums the general consensus is that non-thieves say they’re OP but thieves say they’re UP. Take that for what you will…
