Returning Thief - Still worth as main?
1. No one but yourself can answer that. If you enjoyed it before you will probably enjoy it again.
2. 1v1’ing, I want to say they do really well. But say a guard of equal or better skill is up against you, then most likely it will be a lose. At the same time you could ditch the fight fairly easily – which irritates people and causes them to QQ on the forums. At the same time, 1v1’ing is not a real game mode and has barely any purpose in all other game modes.
3. I believe the very last patch we got, we got a minor buff – a 5 seconds cool down reduction on all venom skills. So, we can no longer say we’re constantly getting nerfed. Though, regardless of the past… There are trait changes coming for all profs, and there are a bit of buffs in there for everyone.
O right, almost forgot.
Welcome back…

New buffs, new opportunities but still worried about future nerfs. If the buffs stay as it is then, we’ll definitely have a better chance winning 1v1s. Oh and you can now crit and apply condis on turrets. lul bleeding turrets.

That’s a turret change that applies to everyone.
It’s difficult but rewarding to play now. If you come back dont get comfortable, specs are being reworked soon.
Zarin Mistcloak(THF) Valkyrie Mistblade(WAR) Kossori Mistwalker(REV) Durendal Mistward(GRD)
I used to think (build op, pls nerf) like you, but then I took a nerf to the knee.

I was playing on my staff ele in unranked last night. This change is great.
Even if thief for some reason got nerfed to near-unviability, it would still be the most fun class imo.
Hi guys thanks for the response!! =D
@Zero – Yeah 1v1 ain’t much as far as game mode is concerned but I’ve always been the duelist type in any game so i guess it helps me out knowing that my main has the potential to win on most if not all prof/build if played right.
Nice to see you’re still here. Been following your posts back in the days. Thanks mate.
thief is hard-mode, it all depends on your ability to play it. It’s just not for everyone, takes a lot of focus… and key mapping hehe. I don’t know about spvp, but wvw is still really nice. I’ve always liked taking point on zergs where I can burst out and tackle vaders very quickly. Best tackler in the game if built for it.
And in pve, I find many champs still soloable (via d/d sb stealth thief). Of course quicker if in a group, but still versatile to the situation to be out scouting and engaging targets while you wait for everyone to catch up to your tag.
Just depends what you like to do and with who. As for a leg, I’d suggest working on a full set of asc instead. You want to look like a winner, or be a winner??
Yeah I gravitate towards it. I have 8-80’s but 99% thief. I usually play the bounty hunter, recon, black-ops, assassin type characters/builds.
