Hello all,

Haven’t played GW2 since roughly the Fractals first release, stopped playing after getting my ascended quiver hehe.

So after doing a bit of digging while my game downloads the new content, I’ve seen ascended has been fully released now and that thief has had some changes.

I used to be a D&D/Shortbow thief focused on power/crit, just wondering how that build is standing at the moment or if it has been rendered useless now.

So basically are there any decent, recent guides (most topics I’ve seen on thieves builds are a few months old, but I might not be looking at the right ones :p ) for bursty wvw/pvp thieves out there ? Or simply what’s the best builds out there for thieves (wouldn’t mind condition again since I leveled with that, might be rusty though lol) and what’s the ideal ascended sets ?

Are they hard/expensive to craft by the way ? I remember the quiver being a massive pain in the kitten back then, here’s hoping I still got a few ecto globs laying around haha.

D/D + Sb is still standing. Might need some trait tweaking – init gain from traits has taken a hit, but default regen was buffed.
Wait with major gear changes, they’re going to change Crit Damage to a stat named Ferocity with the same minor-values as other stats. Ruby orbs – and their ascended counterparts – will take a hit.

I think you’ll find things pretty much the same. There are more condition based thieves these days in Wv3 as that’s the Wv3 meta and because of the upcoming crit changes.

That said I think direct damage builds will still be viable
