Straight to the point

Revealed is annoying, but it is fair that we place it on ourselves when we attack from stealth (to a degree)

Now, we all know that all the hard counters that have made its surface have made several builds un-viable, negate an entire traitline and just plain ignorantly added.

The fixes:

1. Change any external application (that is an application not caused by a stealthed thief doing damage) to a new mechanic called spotted. This mechanic functions like revealed in that you can see the thief, but they can still stealth so their core mechanic (stealth attack) and stealth traits are not negated. Also make it so that they look transparent instead of fully revealed, since that adds some counterplay

2. This next change is courtesy of “theanders.5681”

As it stands revealed training is very sub par. This next change will make revealing/spotting a thief dangerous, and will make you decide if it is worth it.

For every second you are revealed/spotted, gain a stacking 4% damage buff that is removed whenever you stealth

Since you’re rewarded for revealing yourself or being revealed

And it promotes staying out of stealth for longer or not stealthing as much during combat, it promotes counterplay but also adresses the endless stealth issue.

3. Add a passive trait that deals with revealed/spotted.
