No point calling it “revealed” training then.

I’d personally change the trait to “gives 200 extra power on attack from stealth and when revealed”. In its current form it’s rather underwhelming not to have that extra power on backstab. I know you can use steal with mug for it, but lag screws it up and the lowest steal cooldown is 21s.

The idea is to make Revealed appealing, but since it only last for 3s in PvP and WvW, it sucks.

What we need is a buff that cannot be stripped or extended when we get revealed. This way, the buff can linger longer even when Revealed wears off.

However, this would cause an imbalance in PvP since you can potentially use this boost on your next backstab that nobody except Thieves would like — which I’m OK with since we should be able to cause imbalance to tip the scale in our favor anyway. Putting 6pts into DA has to be rewarding given how much we have to sacrifice.

I always looked at that trait as something for the stealthy type of a thief, those that are either stealthed or revealed. So I am perfectly fine with the duration of it tied to reveal but that type of a thief usually relies on backstab as main source of dmg. 6pts in DA to get 200 extra power on few aa’s is not worth it.

I used to play yolo 6/6/x/x/x build for some time, then I tried x/6/6/x/x, the might stacking in SA gm minor gives enough power to compensate for havingly only 2 or no pts in DA, with strenght runes, it’s often even more than that. Sure the might stacks take a while to build up, but many fights take longer than few seconds. 6/6/x has a small dmg advantage over x/6/6 only at the start of the fight, in exchange for huge loss in survivability. It makes no sense that 6/6/x has to go signet build to do higher stabs than x/6/6.

Revealed Training giving +200 power on first attack from stealth and during reveal would give 6/6/x builds the dmg advantage they should have.

People will always QQ about thieves, nothing will change that.

From stealth? So backstab would benefit from this just by slotting this trait?

Thieves already found a way to do that as is.

If you Steal (trait Mug) before your backstab connects, you’ll reveal yourself and get the bonus that is, supposedly, applied to your backstab.

I have not tested this myself, but that is the information being circulated.

It works. The problem is that it requires the thief to mug from behind thus losing all control over which side you’ll be hitting from once you press F1, and to deal more damage than 5/6/0/0/3, requires a one second wait time in stealth for First Strikes to go into effect – if they move a little, odds are you’re not hitting them from the back.
