Ok. Pretty obvious at this point. Anet has catered to the QQers about stealth that probably have never played a thief before.

That’s fine, most game companies these days do this when players whine enough instead of learning to play.

But on top of this, they basically 33% nerfed all stealth traits/weapon skills, etc. WITH NO COMPROMISE aka a very poorly thought out change.

There has to be a push pull here with balance. Revealed increased by once second? Great! But where is the counter-measure here? No buff to the on-stealth traits to compensate for the longer revealed time?

Numerically, every trait that triggers on stealth should have received a 33% buff to compensate for the extra time out of stealth. This is standard in all game balance design, and applies to this design decision as well.

The same goes for the quickness nerf. 50% nerf? Perfectly fine! But if you are going to do that, then you have to look at everything that gives quickness…why was the critical haste trait duration not buffed here? As well as sigil of rage duration?

It’s understandable to want to afford players better reaction time, but there has to be a slight buff there to compensate…

It just seems like the impact the quickness nerf and revealed debuff changes have on the game were not taken into consideration at all otherwise we would have seen simultaneous measures taken to all of the traits/weapon skills/etc that were affected by these changes.

I also have to add on top of this, a lot of weapon sets were not taken into consideration as well. Things like backstab/sneak attack now essentially do “less damage over time” because you can do less of them so your overall damage output is less. Same goes for the sword set’s daze duration, and same goes for pistol whip which was mainly used with quickness for damage output and that is now not viable.

There were no changes made to compensate for the revealed duration increase. There should have been.

Stealth didn’t need a nerf in my opinion.

Haste did, but the side effect of using haste need to go or be drastically reduced like the effectiveness of the skill.

Just another noob thief…
