Reverse Improvisation nerf please
Bad idea. Say you run all physicals. You have a 16.67% chance to recharge all of them. Your suggestion gives a 20% chance to recharge one of them. That is a huge nerf. I agree it should be changed somehow, but not like that.
I’d rather see a reduced cooldown on all types. 25% CDR per Steal should be reasonable.
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.

I meant slots not types. not reset traps but reset ability #7 or ability #8 make the rng a base 20% if it rolls that a skill gets reset it randomly picks one slot to reset regardless of it ability type, no more all skills reset if they are the same type only one period is what i mean

Its a nerf to all those who don’t even have HoT far more damaging a nerf than removing an OP ability to reset an entire bar. Improv change was bad
Edit: Or to those who don’t even use physical. Was a nerf plain and simple needs reversed or rethought

I like it.
Maybe it could be like a buff. Make it reduce CD of the next utility used after stealing.
I don’t post much, but I had a thought after reading this thread.
Option 1: have it reset abilitys CURRENTLY on CD. This way it will only effect abilitys you are useing, however this seems a bit overpowered.
Option 2: have it reset the last utility used. So let’s say you start of with SR for stealth. Then lay down A trap you go in for a steal/BS combo and it will reset your trap. I think this has a lot of fun play, although being able to spam hide in shadow 3 times in a row seems OP.
Or augment what abilities it resets. Why not just a flat 20% reset chance for one slot on your bar. Not a type but just a slot.
Improvisation isn’t about being random like a twitter girl. Its about using what you have ON HAND or around you.
Not "hmm did i bring an extra trap?! … Nope… bugger I don’t even use those.
All the recent change has done is make it mathematically more useless, and potentially straight nerfed anyone who doesn’t have HoT.
Edit: spelling
If Elite off, Imp recharge base utilities.
If Elite on, Imp recharges base utilities and physicals.
They don’t have to revert, nerf, or buff.
They just need to stop being lazy about this stuff and put extra thought/work into it.
Id like to get a Dev to give us their thoughts or insights as to why the nerf or if there’s a way to fix it.
i like the idea when i steal suddenly i have sr or ss ready up or trap.
25% cd wont give it and thief must has some quick skill activation so now i have to w8 few more seconds. but maybe works better with skill inherent reduce cd trait like signet and tricks ….
also only recharge 1 skill slot wont do that but i rather see 1 skill recharge than none and w8ing
dont know what to choose
Imo concidering how squishy we are, having a GRANDMASTER talent having a more than likely chance to give you a big fat goose egg is pretty bad game design.
Edit: even worse game design to think nerfing it further would help in any way.. Again id love to here what the water cooler conversation was.
I wonder why Anet kept the skill like this. They removed Ricochet because they didn’t like the RNG. Furthermore as possible new expansions are released, the chances of it recharging what you want will be reduced. I honestly think it should be changed to “One random skill currently on cooldown is immediately recharged when you steal.” This way there is more control over what you want to reuse and it promotes more skilful play.
We talked about this way before HoT announcement this is probably low priority. The comparison between Ricochet and it proves it, I’m still waiting for CiS to go back to master tier. Ironic how a bug fix turns out be a nerf.
The Dhuumfire thread
Again can we just get the devs mind set or goal they had in mind for this stealth nerf?
They give insights on the other specs changes, I want to know why they thought dropping the usefulness of a grandmaster trait.
Other than just stealth nerfing and running back to patch druid or something.
Considering that they plan on adding more and more elite specs, and those specs presumably come with new utility types, some sort of decision needs to be made with improvisation.
If they do indeed actually have physicals on their rolling list even if you’re not using daredevil, that’s a huge problem that will only get worse as more elite specs are added.
