Revert Assassin's Reward to Master tier
side note/request:
please remove Hard to Catch all together.
Or make it actually break stun, or stealth.. this trait is just horrible.
Side note-
Other useless traits include:
Assassin’s retreat (really? On kill? that’s not retreating you fool)
Potent Poison (our poison duration is long enough)
Improvisation (too random, and we don’t get bundles, I mean who made this?)
Patience (easily outdone. Not worth a 20 point investment)
Fleet shadow (can’t really see it being picked over II or III. Maybe merge into patience to make it worthy?)
Instinctual response (no control, can really backfire when you need stealth)
Last refuge (same deal, no control)
Long reach (yes, lets steal from afar Vs. gaining fury might swiftness, or caltrops or dps? Every adept trait beats this guy, and for obvious reasons).
break. I feel like they should be back by now..”

Thinking about assassin’s reward, I think if it removed a condition when you spend X initaitive, it would be good. With the change with initiative gain, could be a good reason to spec in to it high initiative gain, and take skills like RoI,
Hard to catch, instinctual response and last refuge needs a rework.
Fleet of shadow has too much competition in the adept space, so merging it with a lesser used major could work, same with long reach.
Some people take improvsation in their build, if they rework the bundle damage part, then I could see it get more used.
Potent poison should effect more than posion, say torment, vul and weakness, and be renamed of course, potent infection?

If potent poison just affected weakness in addition to poison it would be on par with mug. It would synergize well with D/X (15+ points in DA), SB, and S/X, making it a great all around trait and increasing the defensive support capability of the thief.
Assassin’s reward WITH condi removal would be worth grandmaster for me. I like the idea of small heals during combat but I have to go 10pts in SA for condi removal and the heals on their own are just not worth 30pts.
Long reach is pretty good in wvw imo.

I’d be behind one condition removed per 300 or so healing. (1 condition removed per 5 initiative spent at base level)
Asssassin’s reward with remove condition will be great for a granmaster trait.
Thieves lacks a lot in remove conditions without stealth and in big battle where u can’t rely on stealth this trait will be great!
Something like 1 condition removed every 2 or 3 ini spent will be balanced, at least we can face also this spam condition meta.
Think about it ANet.
And I think assassin retreat works on white mobs, not able to test it atm tho
It does not. Ambient creatures don’t give you the Swiftness.
Having Assassin’s Reward remove a condition per so many initiative spent or so much healing done is the best idea I’ve seen to making it worthwhile Grandmaster trait. I recently finally caved in and went to 20 Shadow Arts simply to take condition removal on stealth. I was quite happy with 10pts in Shadow Arts as it gave me access to the trait I wanted/needed (Cloaked in Shadow) as a high initiative PvE thief . Didn’t want to invest in SA (the higher your toughness the more aggro you trigger and I find increased Health to be a better choice) but felt I pretty much had to. I would be quite willing to take Assassin’s Reward as Grandmaster with the same healing as before but with the additional feature or removing any condition (note “any” – enough of this getting rid or one or even three of a limited set of conditions which is pretty much how most of the Thief condition removal is structured).
Acrobatics trait line. Then sell it back
to them for $50. Brilliant! – ghost of P.T. Barnum
The changes to Assassin’s reward are meaningless. and moving it to grandmaster made it even worse. Well, we beta tested the change and it just didn’t work out for us. Time to go back to the drawing board and change it again.
and as others’ have said~ I would really love to have a condition removal trait for non-stealth builds. Or love in general for non stealth builds. On that note, I’m curious if Anet actually believes that we’re even allowed to not use stealth. Is it a requirement for every Thief build?

They put you in combat though if you Cloak and Dagger them, making you move slower. Which is interesting. When you kill them normally you’re not put into combat. Only if you kill them with a skill that puts you into stealth.

Only if you have Blind of Stealth. Blinding puts you in combat.

It still does it without the Blind.
