When i look at the thief as a whole there is many great things i like from it but i tend to notice that the class is far from being perfect . with that being said let me pick a part that could better overall set this class up to be what it needs to be

gear based around the class . thief have the option to go : glass canon , bunker , mix , condi , or spam .

imo the best thiefs i have played against were bunker based thiefs since they mitigate your damage and still bring out heavy damage .

condi thiefs are great for long fights too but they need to maintain pressure in order for them to kill

glass canon is great because they can do tons of damage and are great at 1v1 encounters .

mixed are okay but have their place because they can do a little bit of everything for all sorts of fights

last is spam , they generate enough initiative to literally spam cloak and dagger heart seeker for a pure 1v1 based fight ,

i like that we have so many options to go to in what we want to play , but im kinda worried as to what might get taken from us who enjoy playing the way we do .
i just hope nothing drastic happens .

Don’t think much will change for the thief. There are other profession people are complaining about more. As long as there is stealth, new inexperienced players will still cry OP against a thief because they haven’t yet understood how fight.

Its more of a question which other profession will get a buff that will put thieves in an unfavorable position.

Key game content can also be designed that is bad for thieves. Anything more demanding than the fractal jellyfish could show thieves to be very weak underwater. In fact, underwater thieving is not where it should be.

that is true. thieves utility’s are very limited underwater . you can not use traps /deceptions.
All we got is harpon burst , wich might not be good for all builds

spear is pretty good underwater for thieves tbh, 2 evasive moves that do ok damage, 1 gap closer move to solve the range issue and nine tailed strike is just beastly, used right you can block almost all damage and combined with a decent crit rate and signet of malice you do massive AoE damage and fully heal any damage you do take with the counter.

but yeah, loosing so many utility skills really sucks.
