Guild: Commanders of the Reborn Empire Nation [CORE]
Level 80 Professions: Mesmer, Warrior, Thief
I’ve been struggling to get the damage on my thief higher. I’m currently running full berskers gear with ruby orbs. My backstabs barely hit for 6k, but I’ve seen people hit double thakittens really annoying when I can one shotted in dungeons while doing pathetic damage. I’m new to thief and would appreciate it if anyone could link or explain their build and gear setup to hit higher. Is it just because I’m lacking ascended trinkets? I have full exotics with a few ascended pieces here and there…
Can you use this site to let us know of your full build. Will make it easier for us to help you!
6k backstabs on npcs is normal while playing a viable build.
If you wanna go higher.
x6 Scholar Runes
x1 Superior Sigil of Force
x1 Superior Sigil of Bloodlust on 25 stacks
x12 Might from minor 25 trait in shadow arts
Assassins signet triggered
Go with at least ~100% Crit Damage and ~3500damage with food buffs and signet.
and 0/30/30/10/0
Even with this you might still hit between 5-7k on high armored targets.
Edit: Made an example build.

We’re always helpful. If it seems we’re not, we’re only waiting for the right time to strike. Thief, ya know.

8k Effective power is quite impressive, but if someone farts, you are dead. I recommend you increase the health to at least 15k and your toughness no less than 1250. Then go full damage with the rest. However, if you want full damage, then by all means go with the spec mentioned above.
