You give us precison, nice!
You give us Condition damage! Nice, cond dmg and precision are okay for some Cond dmg builds.

And then you go ahead and give us 10% dmg from behind on a cond based rune set? Which imo is not even decent compared to other cond rune set.

My suggestion would be change cond dmg for normal power, this way Power based thieves will be able to use this runes!

I’m sure that would go down well with the community.

Point being, yes, this rune-set would be awesome for Thieves if Condition Damage was replaced with Power.

But it would also be best-in-slot, at least in terms of DPS. And I’m not sure if giving Thieves even more front-loaded damage is currently the best way forward for the class.

So while you are right, the rune-set does not make much sense for a Thief, fixing it would make it overpowered.

^ Not all thieves backstab. Secondly, a good thief can’t land backstab on a good player more than a third of the time they attempt it because of the setup it requires. However bad players don’t understand the concept and unintentionally open themselves up for the damage spike.

Taking the hit is essentially their punishment for making it easier to land the backstab.

On Topic: They were better when you only needed 1 and be a thief to get all 6 tiers. :c

I used this rune to try a hybrid build, backstab dmg was ok but there are much better runes out there….

Scholar >> ogre >> divinity ….

It would be a great rune if it added some crit dmg or power.

Unfortunatelly hybrid builds dont work, you have to go full zerker or full cond, we cant have both….

Eh, most runes of (insert profession here) suck for that profession, with the exception of runes of the ranger, which are actually pretty awesome for power build rangers.

I have used them before and I liked them.
10% extra dmg on a backstab no matter how much HP you have is great... at least for me. I tend to get hit a lot.

as a D/x thief we try to land backstabs, with the 10% whenever we hit from behind will always give us the damage boost. yes we loose some power and crit dmg but we gain some crit chance and a guaranteed 10% damage from behind no matter how much hp we have.

You do know there are some condition sets that use full rabid right? Aside from the last bit the runeset really only helps with sets that use rabid. However thief runes suck in general.

Not every rune set needs to be hyper specialized towards one specific attack. Runes of the Thief pretty obviously increases multiple aspects of the Dagger/Whatever set. I think it’s fine how it is.

Condition build is not a generic build, that would be the Specialized Thief I mentioned thus Rune of Thief is not needed.

Generic D/D benefits from this rune because the high Prec allows it to gain Init from auto-attack, the condition damage for Death Blossom, and the +10% dmg for backstab.

It’s a well rounded rune for generic D/D.
