S/D post 15 April?
Nothing has really changed for S/D. You still have the standard acro evade spam, but I have heard of some people using the D/P trickery traits with S/D as well.
The new released traits are all pretty useless for PvP and there hasn’t really been any other changes that really affect S/D.
Since our iconic DD has seen some major dulling that can only be mitigated be a potential overhaul of some important gear, you’ll see some more SD builds out there. (And PD-_-) but I’ll share my sword build, zerk gear with knight and soldier trinks, 2/0/2/4/6 withdraw, shad step, blinding powder or shadow refuge, roll for ini …..as for runes, lyssa got a nerf I may stick with em or I may go runes of strength or eagle I haven’t decided
Runes of strength with a x/6/x/6/x build, with might on signets and dodge is pretty nice. It’s not as borderline OP as it is on some classes like ele, but it puts out some nice numbers, and it ties together well as an acro S/D build.

The new behavior of the Generosity/Purity sigils is pretty nice for S/D, which has always struggled with finding ways to deal with conditions.
I’ve been gone for 2 months, and I don’t even remember what traits I had. /blush
I’m running zerker armor with beryl orbs, Valkyrie weapons (accuracy & perception sigils), 1 ascended Soldiers ring and 4 pieces of beryl jewelry.
Running S/D with 2/0/0/6/6 zerker and cavalier mix Strength runes it hits pretty hard. might is up about 90% of the time

A p/d POWER build that is very effective
Been trying out a 6/2/6/0/0 build s/d d/d and its pretty good if you land all the burst correctly but still not sure if it is better than 2/6/6/0/0 d/d sb
D/D S/D SB
I’ve still been using classic s/d acro. But I’ve switched to using air/generosity sigils instead of fire/force. I think generosity makes up the 5% difference from force while clearing condis. Also since generosity is taking over condi clear I dropped Pain Response and have been experimenting with Power of Inertia/Hard to Catch instead. Only if HtC wasn’t terrible…. I think I’ll just end up going back to pain response.
S/D is still where it was. Decent/good damage and mediocre/good survivalbility (depending on your and your opponent’s skill). I was playing my warrior today and an S/D thief killed me 2/3 times we fought in PvP partly because he was good, and partly because I rarely play my warrior, had to relearn the timings, and was trying a new build but I digress… it ended with him ragequitting…. so it is fairly counterable if people know when to attack/CC.
Say what you will, but I’m having a lot of fun with 6/0/2/0/6 in WVW roaming S/D, SB. High fury uptime from Thrill Of The Crime/Steal makes critting a non issue really since I’m sitting around 35% without any points in the Crit line. Also running revealed training and relying more on dipping in and out of stealth is def a nice change of pace from the usual S/D playstyle.
As I’m sure you can tell this is a very unforgiving build and if you overextend or get yourself in trouble you are dead, but I enjoy the high risk/high reward aspect.
I just swapped to Air & Fire sigils and the added burst is really very nice. Other than that, I’m still playing the 5/0/0/3/6 Lyssa S/D build I had post patch, not much else has changed.
Side note: Improvisation is a funny trait, I had it refresh shadow refuge 3 times in a row earlier today ^^
Don’t follow me, unless you enjoy being chased by angry men with sticks.
