S/P or D/D for PvE?
also S/P makes it easy to keep weakness up without the trait required for DD build.
SP also has the blind puddle….
once I hit 80 I went D/D for PvE though, dissapearing all the time is just more fun, but still stick to my D/P for PvP
Like just about everything else, it’s all situational.
Double daggers will make quick work of small groups of enemies who try to swarm you thanks to the massive bleed damage of death blossom. But you don’t get any blind abilities with them. You can hit a literal small mob of enemies all at the same time with blossom and then run away, letting them die of bleeding.
Sword and pistol give you a decent reach, you can hit three targets lined up side by side in front of you with each swing and black powder means for 4 seconds you’re almost invincible. But it doesn’t have any bleed or poison abilities so you’ll have to hit things until they die instead of running off and letting their HP drain. Sword attacks can cause paralysis, weakness, and cripple.
I’d personally find double daggers much more useful if death blossom inflicted cripple too.
- S/P is going to have better damage against 3 targets or less (including single target)
- S/P has better survivability (Pistol Whip evade + Infiltrators Strike + Black Powder + Head Shot + Tactical Strike vs Death Blossom evade + Cloak and Dagger)
- D/D has better large scale AoE
Overall S/P is the better kit imo. You won’t be able to AoE like D/D can, but you will be better off in every other category. If you take S/P + Shortbow you will be covered in almost every situation.
Also, S/P is substantially easier to gear for. You pretty much just go straight Berserker, with perhaps a couple of Vit pieces tossed in if you want a little more survivability. D/D is way more complicate, you gotta decide if you wanna go Condition Damage + Death Blossom, precision/crit damage + backstab/heartseeker, or a mix of crit/prec/cd. That’s actually what turns me off from D/D, I feel like Death Blossom and Heartseeker/Backstab are mutually exclusive due to the stats each ability wants.
Why not both? You’ve got two weapon kits, mix it up
Hmm.. thanks for your input guys, think I’ll stick with S/P for now as I’m definitely more used to it and as Blacksarevok said, I’m gonna use my Shortbow for AoE!

You usually know when you’re going to be in a situation like that and can plan accordingly, though. You don’t have to always have a ranged offset.
