Great video. Love the commentary. Question for you: Could you give general tips to improve? Of course the Thief specific stuff is helpful, but I feel I get overwhelmed with conditions when playing on my own in sPvP. Pro teams seem to have no issue with them. And observing your match, you always seem to know the right times to cleanse, see what’s happening (even down to calling Moa).
How do you watch for all these things? Is there any resource you could recommend to getting better at this stuff?
Crucial stuff to know about is the most recently applied condition or conditions will be removed first this is key to cleanse stuff like lets say you headshot a retri rev to procc taunt you can cleanse it instant with signet, if you are too slow however and they add weakness thats the condi that you will remove instead of taunt (just an example).
Improvisation in DA will help a lot also over executioner against mesmer/heavy condi teams and just to have the ability to RNG reset shadowstep/signet/heal. Also since mesmer steal now gives resistance don’t panic cleanse stuff. These are just stuff that you get into your blood eventually, observations and all of it comes with experience.
It’s kinda hard to just give general tips cus there can be like million things, it’s easier to answer questions like you asked!
Gotcha. Thanks for the reply. Watching some of your VODs and you even are like “Dodge the Plague Signet” — Crazy man. I have played sPvP since the launch of the game (albeit, on and off with long breaks) and there is stuff you’re calling that I can’t see for the life of me. My experience with other games is like… you can play it casually and never get better. Or you can play it critically, get into the game, etc and progress skill wise. I feel like with GW2 I’m somewhere in between. I’m playing to get better and don’t think I’m trash, but I’m clearly outclassed by a lot of streamers (just categorically with how people are calling things, etc).
Thanks for the video and I hope you keep producing content like this. Would love to see it, and would love to see other classes (if you play them).
Awesome content man, thanks for sharing!
And +1 on Sange’s comment. It’s insane the animations better players are able to pick up on & react to. Especially when playing at max zoom.
(I know prediction is a big part as well.)
Thank you both of you, I got back streaming again after 3 months break and I’ll start work next week and usually I am exhausted after it and never got the energy to stream but I really want to make it work and I do hope I will.
I played engi/mes/rev in Pro Leauge but I obviously am not even remotely close to my thief on those and usually when I stream I try to stick to thief just to show what we are capable of.
i really like the bali use with pulmonary impact i never thought about that one : )
Was even more insane with double stack, I have some old VoD when I procc it 3 times in a row on a druid without even touching him lmao, insane.
Really appreciated the stream!!
Coming back now after a long break, and watching your stream, you have had (re)taught me a lot of things.
Hope you can keep streamming.

It’s my intentions to keep streaming yes, but not as frequent as last week hehe.
I just saw the video of Helseth on the PVP pro league and the reasons why there is not much pro players on the pvp forum. It’s really interesting btw.
So thank you for coming on the thief forum from time to time Time to learn new things now !

You should definitely play in one of the PvP duel rooms for an hour one day!
