[STEAL FIX] September 10, 2014 Bug Fixes
Thief is still unplayable. Revert nerfs please Anet, I don’t like any other class, they all have a low skill cap and are boring pleeeeeease Anet I don’t wanna quit this game I like it!!!!!

That was unexpectedly quick on their part. I guess, thanks to the guy who took his time to fix it.
As far as nerfs/buffs go, i welcome high skill floor/cap yada yada…. as long as it is the same for every class.
I think anyone would agree that currently the skill floor/cap is waaaay too disproportional for other classes. It doesn’t do well for the game when 1 class has waaay too high skill floor and other don’t, same goes for skill cap.
When you need to invest less effort into same effect, at the end you will choose whatever is more efficient even if it is boring (see champ farms). Patches like this will cause some players get frustrated and quit game, many players will probably flock to other, more “efficient” classes. However the issue here is the same as with playing game with cheats/godmode on: eventually you get bored and quit game.
I know i am biased about thieves since i love the class, but i do think that the more disparity between class efficiency Anet introduced via patches like 9/9/2014 the more players will get bored and quit game.
I am sure, even most biased thief player out here doesn’t actually want thieves to be OP, they want big pvp/wvw community to play with/against. I find this patch rather contra productive in this sense.

At moi.4398, please explain which class has a higher skillcap. I’m terms of skill floor, things like shatter mesmer have a higher skill floor, but skill cap thief has by far the highest.

Where are you getting these statements from? What verifiable evidence do you have to support this? I see these statements made in every prof forum, and it always boils down to subjective opinion being presented as fact. The only person who would even be able to make such claims with any credibility would be, idk, a widely-recognized expert at all professions…

it’s still broken. For example if i have standard steal with 900 range: i stand on 950 range and trying to do heart seeker combo with steal it immediately interrupts HS and i stay on the same place where i started to do HS, however i pushed the steal button when i or even less, cos i’ve crossed 1/2 destination of HS (HS has 450 range). It worked properly before. I don’t know why but it looks like now steal calculate your distance position from the spot where you started do your movement skill. I will do a bug report ticket now with copy paste of my post. Hopefully they will repair it

You guys are crazy, D/P is loading kitten atm with cleave.
S/D has unending evade,
S/P is still fine /w panic strike or quickness build (sigil of rage+X in CS)
I can kill a lot of stuff with PP/DP
Don’t like conditions though…
