I’m planning to use this build in WvW now that I finally got all the mats to craft a full gear. My only dilemma left is rune choice. I dont like Ogre because SA involves a lot of stealth and the dog reveales your position and lets emenies know that you are still around. (I admit its better is spvp though, I do use it there.)

Scholar seems to be a solid alternative as shadow rejuv and the low health pool means that if I can reset, I’ll be on full health which gives me a nice 10% dmg bonus when re-engaging.

Strength seems cool as well because of hidden assassin.

Hoelbrak may be an overkill due to shadow’s embrace.

Help plox, the desperation is real!

Rune of the Pack is a good alternative too since it gives a lot of mobility and a proc for might, fury, and swiftness.

I wouldn’t look at Ogre, you’ll get enough might from Thrill of the Crime and Hidden Assassin, and your crit chance isn’t high enough without Hidden Killer for the minimal ferocity bonus from Ogre to make up the difference.

I’d personally go with Strength – while Scholar will give you a bit more first strike damage to one shot people, you’re clearly not running a one shot build, and Strength will give you better sustained damage in longer fights.

Also, don’t bother putting air and fire sigils on your underwater weapons – they don’t trigger underwater.

air and fire works underwater, it was updated several patches ago

I’m going to go with Sir Vincent on this one. Pack is very useful on thieves with the power and precision bump as well as the proc which stacks nicely with thrill of the crime.

Go for Pack.

You won’t be able to keep your HP above 90% with this build.
2/0/6/0/6 is more of a brawler thief build that survives long but takes a little longer to kill.

Scholar is more advised for Full burst builds since any damage will kill you either way.

Strenbght and hoelbreak is useless since your build don’t stack might outside you SA trait. You won’t have might high enough to care.

Alas, you can also Pick traveler.

Pack gives you a few extra seconds to catch your prey btw:) and it’s cheap^^

Go with the Pack

If you aren’t opposed to changing you playstyle a bit, runes of the warrior are pretty good and vastly underrated. Just think for a minute about the things you can pull off with those swaps.
