Scorpion Wire (WvW)
i usually swap out signet of shadows for it before i enter battle, very useful for pulling barrage rangers off of walls while sieging a gate. it’s also very useful for pulling an orb carrier out of a group during an ambush.
Second Law [Scnd]
I got this skill solely to use in WvW. unfortunately the only problem I run into with it is that it doesn’t work when combined with the power trait that immobilizes a foe that is under 50% health. If the power trait is not on cool down and I use it against an enemy under half health, the wire will strike the enemy, deal a negligible 200~ damage, and immobilize them instead of pulling them to me. kinda annoying as I can easily lose a potential kill because of it.
I like the idea but hate.the mechanic
It misses SO FREAKING OFTEN.
i like this skill but i just cant make room for it on my bar other stuff to important :P though i would love to see some ones face that was shooting from a wall thinken their invincible to all of the sudden be in a crowd of unfriendlys lol.
I love this ability. I have made many kills from it. Even though enemies most of the time either dodge it, line of sight it or it triggers yet a negligible bump in the terrain only moves them 2 inches towards you or simply knocks them down on the spot.
This skill is absolutely amazing in WvW and dungeons (separating mob packs). It ends up forcing defenders on the wall to play more cautiously which gives your guys on the rams more time to beat at the gate. Those who continue to rain aoe from the walls find themselves running back from the nearest waypoint wondering how they suddenly imploded on the ground in the middle of red names.
I’d unslot the panic strike trait for this. Much more strategically valuable. A person you immobilize for 4s and kill on the wall will be ressed, a person you drag down into your group on the ground will not.
Panic strike is a 90s cooldown and conditional, scorpion wire is a 30s cooldown and works as long as you get it on the right target at the right time.
I find scorpion wire great, however…it’s VERY buggy.
There’s a lot of times when it hits the enemy, but either does NOT pull them, or only pulls them halfway. This applies to PvE, and PvP.
Scorpion Wire at keep assaults = hilarity. I swap it out for something else when roaming / running from 30 player zergs, but I wish I could keep it on my bars all the time.
