Shadow Arts - Cloaked In Shadow
I use that in my current S/D build and I’m starting to hate it. It was a battle which to choose, either that or Shadow’s Embrace — I guess I’ll go back to Shadow’s Embrace.
Infusion of Shadow is a good choice also if you have an aggressive play style.
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.
Why are you starting to hate it?
Please, all P/D threads will be subject to Travlane intervention.
Anyway, onto the subject at hand. Unless you’re playing a high-stealth blind build (which P/D cannot accomplish as well as D/P or S/P) you’re better off using a different trait. I’d either choose Infusion of Shadow or Slowed Pulse, depending on your build’s access to condition removal.
I use it for P/D since i’m CnDing people a lot and it has a 5 second duration.
This seems like a lot of time for people not to be able to hit you for something I will be doing anyway
For something like D/D, it gives way more damage negation than Shadow’s Rejuvenation.
Why are you starting to hate it?
I don’t hate the trait itself, rather the fact that I could’ve use Shadow’s Embrace instead in many of the recent situations. It started at the Aetherblade Retreat where Mai Trin can max stack bleed in 2 seconds. I simply cannot handle it because my build lacks condi-removals.
The consequence of not taking Cloak in Shadows is that I cannot chain blind anymore, which currently works really well against physical professions (i.e. Warriors or Guardians).

I don’t run the blind on stealth anymore. With the new condition meta, you need condi removal for sustainability. I’m assuming this is wvw, so drop the blind and get embrace, rejuv, infusion of shadow. Only. 3 traits worth it in sa atm IMO.
