More passive play ftw of course. In the end you’ll sacrifice sustain for less DPS/burst, I hope they’re still messing about with things, SA was fine, just very annoying to fight, but idk how balanced this will be since traits won’t give anymore stat benefits.

50% reduced in coming damage while in stealth should be a grandmaster trait; it’s a team support skill, and its strong both your you and when with allies. There’s no way it can be a minor. Last refuge should be an adept trait making it optional to take, and concealed defeat should be the minor.

The shadow art line is absolutely broken in the new design, and I seriously can’t understand why developters can’t see it.
2 passive healing, condition removal, more initiative regain, and -50% damage all in one bar, how can ANYONE other than sick-em ranger ever be able to kill thief in WvW?

Don’t get too caught up in the numbers of some of these traits. Also don’t worry about the placement of Adept, Master, and GrandMaster yet. It will all be changing.

Except, you don’t really give up dps/burst anymore due to decoupling stats from lines. Previously deadly arts and crit. strikes were highest dps b/c they were power and precision/ferocity on top of great multipliers. All of the damage multipliers were moved to deadly arts from crit strikes, so you can have your cake, eat it, and have that guy’s cake (points across the room) too!

Honestly adept, master, and grandmaster don’t have to mean anything anymore. You always get all three of them.
Really it comes down to putting traits in the correct tier to create compelling choice. There could be 4 grandmaster level traits, but if they are in each tier with 1 tier having two of them then you only have choice in one tier.
If you have two in a tier and two in another tier you have two compelling choices. If you have 3 in one tier and 1 in other, you again only have 1 compelling choice.

I said minor (not adept) though. I think it should be swapped with RoS in the “5” spot. That way there are 2 compelling choices in the GM area.
Edit : or they could put it in place of last refuge and put last refuge in place of concealed defeat so we don’t have to have that trait. Roll concealed defeat into another trait like reducing deception recharge time + something else and bump it to GM.
edit 2: or have last refuge drop smokescreen instead and replace concealed defeat and still put CiS as the minor and come up with a good trait for grandmaster.

Resilience will probably change to 10-15% SA is supposed to be a support line, it seems fine to me so far a offensive power creep needs a defensive power creep. They removed blind on stealth that was kind of big too, I’m not happy that Last Refuge is still a minor. The new recharge system seems more time worthy to me as well future power d/d issues.
Edit: Like guy below me probably 25-33% percent thief is naturally glassy and it’s a GM minor.

Putting Resilience of Shadows as a minor is madness.
They said it is subject to change strongly implying a nerf.
Although if they nerf it to 25% it is still gonna be great.

No thankyou, I agree with the last refuge as a optional trait but never in a million years do I want to get stuck with concealed defeat, its like an alarm bell screaming your position, whenever I see noob thieves running this trait I always whisper them out of the goodness of my heart to tell them to change it, as it is an awful trait for any form of pvp.
