Shadow Protector Vs Shadow's Rejuvenation
I would consider it in a limited stealth build. WvW S/D Swashbuckler
I would not take it over Shadows Rejuvenation in anything that uses stealth for longer that just a few seconds.
and refuses to spare the life in return for the surrender at discretion (unconditional surrender)
of a vanquished opponent.

Probably would be good if use along with merciful ambush unless the downed person doesn’t benefit from regeneration or I made an error with the traits somewhere..
I can’t access the game currently, but if you don’t go into stealth every 3 seconds, I believe it will be better (you can’t make it stack though, so it also depends on party composition).

so now thakittens got 10 seconds instead of the original 5, would you guys consider this regeneration over the need to stay stealth to heal?

Doesn’t change much, Shadow Protector is still the poor man’s version of Shadow’s Rejuvenation. It’s main problem, not being applied when any health regeneration is on the character has not gone away. If you stealth a lot and relatively long, Shadow’s Rejuvenation >> Shadow Protector. If you stealth only briefly, Shadow Protector, being a 10 point trait, is an option.
Both + Shadow Refuge = Pretty fast Healing → Win.
