I would like some clarification from Anet as to why neither of these skills act similar to a mesmers teleport?

Its frustrating that the class which should be the master of infiltration and stealth is second best to another class, I don’t see how it would be unfair or game breaking to allow us to have a long cooldown teleport back onto keep walls in WvW or back up ledges in PvE.

Mesmers can literally bring their entire guild back into a keep if they are good enough, but a solitary thief is a nono?

Shadow Trap used to work kinda like portal but they added the “Shadowstep Doomsday Patch” that changed how they functioned so that we can get snagged on hills, crack forehead open on walls and get stuck inside rocks.

Afaik shadow stepping always ended on various bumps in the terrain, or landed you below the world, or something.
