Shadowstep spots in WvWvW
“A wise man once said something. No one paid attention.”
After the first day of the new traps being in place, I must say that I don’t mind them as much as I thought I would. Most commanders get mad if you’re wasting supply on them, so they are pretty much reserved for small groups or singles running around.
That being said, it would be HIGHLY beneficial for the Thief community to come together and share knowledge about our other useful disengage mechanic: Shadowsteps.
As mentioned in the first post, do not be afraid to post your shadowstep spots, it could end up saving one of our thief brethen from certain doom. Why just this afternoon I was being chased by a necromancer and his warrior buddy when I came to a low hanging bridge near Orgath Uplands (Eternal Battlegrounds). I shadowstepped the underside of the bridge as we were passing under it, placing me on top. I then switched to my shortbow and clusterbombed them to oblivion. Unfortuately, oblivion isn’t what it used to be, and I had to Infiltrator’s Arrow back down and up several times, juking them, before I could do enough damage to kill them both. Come to think of it, they were kinda terrible. Maybe I’ve just come to expect that now…
Anyways, SHARE!!!! xD

I play p/d condition thief with Runes of the Centaur and use heal skill Withdraw. Instant gap opener and perma-swiftness. These new traps will do nothing to hamper my disengagement. No single person or zerg can catch up to me because I have 100% uptime on the swiftness and 15 initiative shortbow skill 5. I have a Sigil of Energy on my shortbow that provides instant dodge.
Unfortunately, this will be different for all the dull backstab thieves out there.
I don’t always play WvW, but when I do I get kittened backwards by anti-stealth traps!
I wish the shadowstep utility would step to a person if they were in range and were targeted. :C
