Shadowstep, then dodge.

Shadowstep, then dodge.
If i use my utility I should not have to use a dodge too, would rather dodge the charge if I have dodge ofc. You’re not answering the question rly.
Still I’m not getting rewarded for reacting fast and guaranteeing no damage taken and this is what I think is wrong.
I agree. It’s a problem with a lot of the thief’s abilities that other classes’ abilities automatically keep them faced towards the target. kind of defeats the purpose of shadowstepping in a lot of situations.
Yes, and right now you have to eat the stun and probably take some damage and the. Shadowstep and I think this is wrong. They should look into this.
Ok good I am not the only one this happens to. Blasted annoying!
Heat sinking charges are pro.
dont use shadowstep, use roll for initiative…. its a stun breaker without having to use a skill twice, you gain initiative back and also u will roll out of range of the charge and it cannot redirect to hit you. also u can use infiltraters arrow for everything you use shadowstep for… in my personal opinion its a wasted slot to use shadowstep
Yes I know there are other options out there to break stuns but im talking about how broken shadowstep is right now, plus im using a special build with the stealth heal anyway.
So guys please, don’t say, “do this instead” we all know there are options and i want my option shadowstep to work and reward me for predicting/reacting to a charge.
When you use the first shadow step power to jump to a location the first jump does not break stuns how ever when you use the return feature it will break the charge and you wont have to worry about getting hit. I use this tactic all the time with Inf Strike when rocking a sword in the main hand. When i fight a melee class i always want to jump to them first so when they try to stun or disable me i jump back and then jump to them again so i am able to escape when ever i get stunned.

I think you missunderstood the post, im talking about Shadowstep the utility skill and how it works vs warrior charges.
I only noticed this last night. A charge came at me and after I Shadowstepped the guy made a 90 degree turn and kept charging me – and stunned me. The beauty of Shadowstep is then I had Shadow return, and thus escaped the stun and watched as he Hundred Blades the air.
Roll for Initiative isn’t the same. It’s not a long range escape mechanism. Shadowstep gives a stun escape, and then another escape back to the original position if needed. I’d probably use RFI in sPvP but not in WvW.
And yes the first cast of Shadowstep removes stuns. We’re talking about the Utility skill here. You don’t have to use it twice, you can just use it once to get away. It takes some discipline not to spam the key twice. But it’s very reliable.

I know right!

Yes exactly, but if you see the charge coming you should not have to use your return to break the stun when he does the 90 degree turn and stuns you anyway. We should be rewarded for seeing the charge come at us.
I bet if they fix the tracking on channeling spells for when you go into stealth this might get fixed too, seems to be the same mechanical error/bug to me.
Yeah I agree, he should have charged my original location and not turned, but I was glad I had the return in that case. It does need to be fixed.
