I use 25-30-0-0-15 with withdraw, signet of shadows, scorpion wire, shadow step
when with huge groups i often switch out shadow step for roll for initiative.
and scorpion wire for blinding powder or smoke screen.
alternate weapon is a shortbow only using it for infiltrator’s arrow once I go desperate to disengage.
so far- really liking it.
-dragonbrand thief.
I’m going 0/20/0/30/20. Considering 0/25/0/30/15. Seems pretty good for PvE and WvW, but I’m no god on the battlefield. I like having some survivability, but with teeth.
Blinding Powder / Shadow Refuge are really good helping you to escape. Ambush Trap is great in solo PvE, but I generally run Signet of Shadows in WvW. I swap between Thieves Guild and Dagger Storm depending on the situation I’m going into.

I’m curious how P/P use Scorpion Wire? Unless it’s just to pull people off walls or into the zerg.
[EU] Gandara
I have 30-20-20-0-0 with specs in poison’s, 5% damage in both duel and p/p (witch makes it 10%), with other specs in stealth. Skills wise I use venoms/poisons (while switching it out with blinding powder when I need it) with shadow refuge and hide in shadows for healing. The elites I use are dagger storm and thief’s guild, alternating between the two when needed. My alternate weapon is a mix of shortbow for the aoe, swaping it out with d/d for when i want to up close.
I’ve been using this build for about 2 and a half months and it works great for pve, wvw, and dungeons (at least for me anyway). I may not have much hp (its alittle obove 12k), but my specs in toughness keep me alive.
Here’s mine, after many tweaks i decided to drop the entire deadly arts line, and honestly didn’t lose much dps in the process, although i miss mug at times thrill of the crime is great on its own.
Note that i would really love to bring along tripwire instead of blinding powder (even if the latter always comes in handy), but after several runs with it, it is way too unreliable in its current stae.
I’m still hesitating between divinity or eagle runes, or even maybe some more utilitary rune providing better survivability but it seems to run fine at the moment, extensive testing may make me change my mind.
Overall very nice survivability while packing decent dps, shadowstep combined with p/p makes for an awesome positionning ability, and of course shadow refuge to flee like a coward, res allies, or burst a bit while leeching some health.
Dagger storm is particularly useful against necros with lots of minions, mesmers in general, and since most thieves use the guild it’s a particularly efficient counter to it, , especially considering that the more targets you get around the more your red bubble will fiiiizzzzzz to the up.
Also, i love headshot. Had to be said.
Downside : no way to cure heavily oriented DoTs builds, some particular necros get rid of me in a matter of seconds.

Since you’re running Might synergy (might-on-dodge, might-on-steal, and duration from 25 acrobatics) you might consider Hoelbrak 2-set to maintain those stacks longer. I’d also urge you to consider Signet of Agility, it is a particularly excellent utility skill when running Acrobatics since it makes each dodge worth so much more (due to boons and bonus endurance-per-dodge), it’ll also help with conditions and give some free crit chance while it is in passive state.
Hey thank you for you input
I actually tried both hoelbrak and strength already, but the tradeoff in crit/crit rate is too important to keep it that way, on the other hand i think this would be a good idea on a build using deadly arts in order to maximize the benefits of added power.
You make a point about power of inertia along with signet of agility, i’m going to try this although i suspect i will miss the extra survivability, and once again i am not power oriented, and tbh i would gladly exchange power of inertia for Fleet of Foot or Pain Response which is unfortunatelly not possible. Also the passive boost of signet of agility is not that great…

To be fair, the only passive signet thieves get that I’d consider “great” is SoM. The mediocre passives on the rest of them do well to encourage thieves to either burn the active or stop being lazy and pick an active utility. I’m glad 4-signet thief isn’t really a thing (unless they’re burning them all for Might).
I use a ranged build (P/P and SB).

So I usually run dungeons with this build specifically CoE & Arah. I use full Berserker set (Armor & weapons). I use Hoelbrak runes & sigils of strength on the gun & purity on SB. As for traits I use:
Crit Strike:
Practiced Tolerance or Pistol Mastery (depending if you need more dmg or survivability)
Combo Critical Chance (As I mostly try to pam Unload)
Acrobatics:
Power of Inertia (for more might)
Quick Recovery (enables better Unload spamming)
Assassin’s Reaward (more healing)
Trickery:
Thrill of the Crime (Just to get the boons)
Skills:
Hide In Shadows (for the Stealth & condition healing)
Signet of Agility (Quick endurance recovery)
Infiltrator’s Signet ( Initiative recovery)
Shadow Refugee or Assassin’s Signet (Shadow Refugee is the best thief skill in my opinion perfect for stealthing & reviving but sometimes you need more spiky dmg. so I use Assassin’s Signet)
Elite: Basilisk Venom (Quick CD & able to stun every enemy even if they have x stacks of defiance)
What I basically do is try to spam Unload to dmg & to get more stacks of might & using to dodge to move away from attacks while getting even more stacks of might.
If I find myself in a tough situation I switch to SB for more mobility & condition removal (because of sigil of purity). For me it works quite well.. My death rate fell drastically after I switched to this build. I tried using Divinity runes but I didn’t really enjoyed it so I switched to Hoelbrak for more stacks. And before I forget stealing is a great initiative recovery mechanism (even though you don’t run out of initiative that easily).
Hope this was useful!
