Because the Hipsters say so… They used to fight at mid before it was mainstream.
So u plan to have 5 men zerg bouncing around spaming #5?
Why do you think they even need to engage you with full team to whipe you all?
One mes with portal and your strategy is done…
One aoe stun ,be it rev or engi you are all down in few sec
One schocking aura and you can bounce no more….
And then they punish
You can run to other point but doubt you will do much better,theif has dmg and mobility .
They everything else + what you have…

I’m not actually a Thief player, but I’m certain one needs way more than one of these things to down a team of 5 Caeds.
Oh , man look at number of games that man played as thief and tell me how many other players can come close to his, or Sizers skill and knowledge of that class??
There was a time when s/d -SB thief was considered most op thing in this game,

If I were your opponents I would simply put 1 close, one far and 3 mid – that should solve the problem.

We did, me and 4 fellow pretty pro thieves. Before June – didn’t work. Not enough condi cleanse.

That depends on the classes and builds holding close and far and how good those players are at those builds. I played a match against 3 thieves recently while playing my engi, and all three tried to force me off of far at together. They all ended up downed pretty quickly. I don’t think thieves have the necessary tools to survive in this meta, so having a team full of them would be detrimental at some point in the game. The beauty of thief comes in its mobility, but conquest is won by having people who can stay and fight on point and survive aoes. Thieves can’t do this, so they won’t have a good time winning as a group of 5.

Yeah, I recently gave in and switched from Power to Condi Revenant. It was like activating Bankai – the field was overcome with cancerous torment! Now if only Crimson Lion Mace skin didn’t cost so much…
Since Condi Revenants and Bunker Chronomancers can 2v5 Thieves, there really isn’t a place for Thieves at all right now.

Because controlling middle on most maps means that you can reach far and home faster.
In the end the “mobility advantage” is killed by having to walk longer distances

the counter to this would be defending points.
I tried it a few times~ didn’t work very well.
