Signets start attacks

Is it desirable for Signet of Shadows and Assassin’s Signet to start auto-attacks? This is how they work now but it seems strange to me. Perhaps other thieves appreciate this and can say why.

I don’t have auto attack on so this never happens to me

Elxyria – Engineer / Deluzio – Mesmer
Quickblade Vince – Thief

auto target and auto attack
… turn them off

Desolation: 80 ranger [Nightwither], 80 necro [Dusk Grimsoul]

80 guard [Dusk Grimlight], 80 engi [Flintgear]
