Sinister viable?
Yea I would like to know too.
I’m talking something like venomshare/PVE content.
Has anyone done the math.
I really want to belive it eventhough I’m pretty sure it isn’t viable.
i just dont see the needs to use fero in my stats anymore when we get some fero through precision, and since condi got buffed/deadly arts scale better with condi, its definately worth a try
I am hoping to try this stat set soon (still working towards getting full sinister gear), but on paper I think it will be pretty strong, especially with the new changes to conditions.
It is the ultimate hybrid damage set, so for anyone wanting to maximize their condition damage output, and supplimenting it with extra crit procs and some direct damage, it should be a very strong set. However, before acquiring the gear, my advise would be to try out the rabid amulet in the mists (vs npcs or players), and see if you can make a viable condi build. If you can, sinisters will add even more damage to it. So then it will just come down to a decision on whether you want the toughness or the extra damage.
For me, I like to maximize my damage and rely on skills and traits for defense, and that is why I am working towards sinister gear. Will it be viable? Only if you can make a build with it that suits you.
It outperforms Zerker from my subjective Tests, as long as you have a full group, again I’ve not tracked the numbers yet though I really want to try that soon.
On Dagger/Dagger you are feeling less.. “Squishy” because you can Evade more often.
I think it is a really nice viable Group thing.
But depending on the content/Trashmobs you are loosing dps.

It’s surprisingly viable. I was testing it in SW and, while it seemed like you could push more DPS out with power, sharing spider venom will result in some really solid ticks just from poison alone. Think like 7k+ per if everyone’s focusing the same thing.
I haven’t played with it in dungeons or fractals however, so no idea how well it works there.
I am itching to find out the details of our elite specialization, what weapon we get and what kind of skills it comes with, especially with the condition changes taken into consideration. I been sitting idle on making my ascended gear until then, and after this patch settles including post nerfs if they decide to slip in any.
In the mean time im making a set of sinister for my guardian so I can just melt people.
Linfang
i am 100% sure that thieves get a Rifle.
Used it in the old system and it worked very nice in a hybrid build. I have not had the time to test since the patch. Some combo of direct/condition damage might find sundering strikes usable coupled with a fast hitting attack style that can boost up those Vuln stacks so both damage sources tick harder.
Certain weaponsets would be more effective I would think or being more willing to swap between two types as needed. Hyrbids always find the Condition damage attacks competing with the direct damage attacks for INI so it best that you find a set where there less a need to do that as in relying on the AA for that big attack or condi stacking or coupling a high damage attack with loading up a venom. (ie PP unload could work well here after triggering spider venom)
I still have a sinister set I crafted and might try a hybrid again. In theory it should be easier to do with attributes no longer part of the traitlines and all that ferocity out of CS.
