The thing that there is a scientific side in all the one.
The important one is true. Of me the ruler of my fate, and me also the commander of my soul.
What do you guys do to kill them in wvw?
I tried to use Scorp-wire to pull her away from the mobs then tried to keep evading her attacks, but…
I can’t stop the CnD + steal combo. Any suggestions?
To my current plan or a new one entirely different.
And I usually run Scorp-wire, SoS, and prayer to whatever to remove 3 conditions.
And I usually pair it up with withdraw.
My build is shadow arts with having procs of sigils activate.
Sword/dagger and go at em hard….. remember they have no burst.
Try playing the same game than them : spam C&D with Shadows’ Embrace to remove their bleeds always.
Or maybe the sigil of generosity could be a nice fun way to remove bleeds on you.
Don’t fight them, run, if they chase you, lure them into an area your familiar with and out of the area they arn’t familiar with, P/D thieves will win always usually if you fight them on there turf with there rules.
As a P/D WvW thief the best counter people have used is simpy learning the C&D animation and timing dodges, and saving disables for when they can’t dodge.
This runs out my initiative pretty fast and forces me to withdraw, allowing the opponent plety of time to recharge cooldowns and ends up with me either choosing to get out of the fight, or committing to the encounter at substantial risk of death due to not having enough initiative to properly escape.

Pretty much this, countering CnD is the best way to fight a p/d, when you make them use up their initiative, it’s the bet time to go aggressive making them use their utilities
Use signet of shadows activate and blind their CnDs
Or use a shortbow because the #3 skill comes in extremely handy when dodging CnD
Well dodging will help but it won’t win the fight.
Pistol/Dagger is unbeatable in WvW if played right. It’s far more powerful than any one of those cheesy Backstab builds. It’s just rarely played.
I played P/D since I hit 80 but recently switched to S/D + D/D. I feel like I hard counter P/D. There is nothing they can do. You do need remove conditions on stealth and a way to stealth often though. Dodging C&D is key as well if you don’t want it to drag on.

I agree.I experienced this the hard way.The P/D killer is Inf Strike.Even if they are slowed you just can’t escape, and because of it they lead the fight.S/D guy chooses when to C&D and vanish only to Daze you right after that. It’s a nightmare against good Thief.@Stiv just out of curiosity would you mind post your build please?

Infiltrator Strike (#2 from sword) removes 1 condition…
lulz

True having both could be overkill vs P/D. Still nice to be pretty much immune to all conditions though and not having to rely on S#2 or Heal to remove them.
No such thing as condition removal overkill. Especially against a decent P/D thief with almost unlimited Caltrop snares.
Well dodging will help but it won’t win the fight.

Indeed. Ppl can fight vs nab P/D thief or pro P/D thief. Dodging CnD is pointless vs good ones beacuse they will fake it by dodging towards enemy losing no initiative.

Its true, removing many conditions will prolong the fight. Just like vs d/d ele. Nothing is unbeatable with P/D thief but the fact is – it depend on a player.

You can also stow away your weapons to cancel a cast without burning a dodge.
Burning a dodge is on purpose. With swiftness you can reapply another real CnD on target very fast.
Go P/D berserker put Shadow strike on auto attack, and roll/face eliminating Sneak attack, while face smashing them, everytime.
