Solid WvW roaming build?
E.A.D.
Well, what’s your play style? What kind of thief do you want to be?
I’ll see if I have a build for you when you answer me those two questions.
For noob I recommend D/P and 0/30/30/10/0 with Descent Shadows for the borderlands. Jump off a cliff to escape and stealth. SB for off hand and swap in S/P off hand, signet of malice, and dagger storm to quickly solo camps. Blinding powder, Shadow Refuge, and Shadowstep as utilities.
You’ll be using a lot of black powder → heartseeker with Infusion of Shadow trait for stealth on demand.
After you’re experienced you can switch to 30/30/0/0/10 with signets of power trait, utility full of signets, and basilisk venom. With full zerk gear you can take down most people instantly with your burst. It’s the play style I prefer personally but you have to be extremely good not to be downed by a gust of wind.
thanks guys!
0/30/30/10/0 was what i waslooking for,
I also had some help from ppl in pm’s thanks for that!

The easiest build to play as thief is condi P/D, x x 30 × 30.
Playing 0 30 30 10 0 D/P is kinda hard at the moment due to the fact that people have started to know how to counter this spec and you need to be really good to achieve something other than killing upleveleds or zerker rangers that are catching up to the zerg.
I really enjoy 0/20/30/20/0 for roaming and Wv3 in general. PVT armor, zerker on everything else.
Putting on the noob hat for a second, What does PVT armor mean, and where do they go? Guessing Soldier’s that goes on head chest and legs?
Yes, Soldier’s, it goes on legs, coat and head I think. PVT stands for Power/Vitality/Toughness.
FYI for those that aren’t aware of it, there are two kinds of PVT gear: Soldier’s and Sentinel’s. Soldier’s is primary Power, with minor Vitality/Toughness, and Sentinels is primary Vitality with secondary Power/Toughness. Important to keep in mind what you want your stat mix to be if you’re including either type. Ascended trinkets don’t have Sentinel’s.
I prefer Soldier’s, since it’s slightly more offensive and doesn’t mess with your Power balance.
For our limited AC and low health pools, generally speaking, would it be more beneficial for us to run higher toughness? Or just get more hp?
^ Many schools of thought on that. My opinion is that you only need enough Vitality to avoid getting insta-blicked, since Toughness is better for sustaining yourself through longer battles in combination with healing.
I run full Knight’s armor (primary Toughness, secondary Precision and Power), and keep a couple defensive trinkets around for odd use when Berserker’s isn’t appropriate. I get most of my health from 30 Acrobatics (worth 3000 health) and Practiced Tolerance (when I have 10 CS, worth roughly 1400-1500 health).
