TL;DR: key presses often times happen 2x despite just one quick key press.

I have been leveling my thief for a little while now (level 59 atm, and really enjoying it).

My only complaint really is that sometimes I hit a key just once but it does an attack multiple times.

For example I will hit my key to do “Cloak and Dagger” (in my case it’s bound to “C”), and it will do it twice. It really stinks because it will eat through all my initiative, cause me to loose stealth, and I loose the backstab too.

I have been ultra careful to insure that indeed it happens after one short quick key press. I have set the repeat rate on my keyboard as slow as possible. Nothing seems to get rid of it.

Worse still it’s not consistent. Sometimes I will go an hour plus w/o it failing then other times I can’t get it to stop failing. Other times it seems to alternate.

Any one else get this problem, and/or know how to solve it?

I’ve literally never had this problem and I’ve been playing Thief since beta, are you 100% sure that your keyboard isn’t the problem?

It could be, only that I’ve used this keyboard to play wow for years. Never had a problem there (that I knew of). Then again with wow, multiple key presses aren’t an issue so much.

I have a Microsoft ergonomic keyboard. Not sure if they have a history of this sort of problem.

I have this problem with Heartseeker. I press 2 for a split sec but he jumps 1-3 times.

I had this problem with headshot, yip. Not all the time but did occur enough for me to be certain it was a bug but no tenough to end up reporting it.

Has happened, quite annoying when it happens with C&D.

I often have these misco-lags when it comes to certain abilities. Heartseeker especially, sometimes even Black Powder. But not really with Cloak and Dagger as it’s not really instant.

I don’t know, but the netcode seems kind of kittenty when it comes to queuing abilities.

Sometimes I’ll press a button and nothing happens, other times is triggers twice.

Shortbow 3 can repeat and think this is well a known bug. It generally happens when you press it twice quickly and it gives three shots.

It’s finger spasm, especially if you’ve used the same keyboard for years playing WoW. What I meant is, you might think you just pressed the key once, but if you actually look at your finger, it’s sitting on the key — sending multiple requests. Then once you become aware, the repeating skills stops, then comes back when you’re focused into the game, especially during a heated fight.

It happens to me with my dodge since I keybind it to L-Shift and usually waste my dodges.

I’ve been having this issue since day 1 and only on the thief. It it NOT finger spasm. It is NOT lag. I’ve tested and tried various things to fix it. I have changed keyboards, so it is NOT the keyboard either.

Usually happens with heartseeker and death blossom only. Can’t tell with the other skills. Press the button ONCE and the command will do it twice (consuming imitative both times). Very annoying. Only happens on my d/d thief.

It happens to me all the time when I use shortbow 3, and I’m very aware of how many times I press it. I tested it out one day, and it definitely went off twice when I only pressed once. Seems to be a bug, sadly.

It’s because the kb register 2-3 clicks. It happens with with Death Shroud as well.
What they could do is to add an 1/4 “invisible” cooldown, but i’m sure some people won’t like it.

No, it’s not the keyboard, it’s the client. It happens on the mouse as well, and it never happens when I use the keyboard to write.

I’m pretty sure it also happens with Steal. Along with the fact that you often steal nothing even though you teleport to someone.

This had happened to me when I used shadow strike, P/D. But it wasn’t really a problem, who can argue with 4 stacks of torment in one click. And then do another steal then another shadow strike for 6. Can’t argue with that.
