Spvp thief qq
I’d love to see how much they would QQ if they were hit with hs before it was nerfed…
They qq about HS because you can spam it as a execution skill on low HP targets.
Since the tool tip adds up all the HS hits in the last few seconds before their death and displays it as a whole, they don’t see the other numbers and think they died only to HS spam (which is sad if someone did die ONLY to HS spam).
Without fail, kids crying about spamming hs…
Neglecting 1-2 cnd+bs’s…
I think people just don’t understand thief class. To them it’s hit haste and spam 2 I guess. This one guy was like l “let me show you how to spam 2!”. He was terrible.
What annoys people is not especially the HS damage alone, but the 450 range of it.
It allows such mindless and skill-less spamming without any basic effort of positioning. The guy can dodge twice in a row in a attempt to save him and still die, because you can spam at least 6 HS’s in a row.

If you let the thief hit you that many times then of-course you’re going to die.
If you so much as CC the thief, they’re going to back off. Most classes have a snare.
If you dodge twice immediately, you’re just asking for a rough time with anybody.
I don’t get the big gripe about HS. People usually die because they didn’t fight back, or didn’t attempt to defend themselves without panicking.

Yea. I’m laming people with my triple meditation guardian or my wells-necro and people say that i’m good or skilled. But if I kill people with my thief they always flame me. I would like to know why people hate thieves so much.
Heartseeker QQ is sooo September 2012.

Because exactly such kind of builds (Heartseeker+Haste Spam for example) give a thief bad name.
Also i have very specific opinion about Heartseeker in particular.I will repost something that i posted several months ago, before the % nerf of HS,if you read it you maybe understand my point:
Round 12,Fight!!!
OK let me go back a months ago in the beta weekends and to track the history of Heartseeker.
Now GW2 is a game, quite different from the others mmorpgs(atleats from the other AAA rpg from which we all come) in some aspects:
1.It has NO global cooldown.
2.It has forced Skill queueing.
3.It has NO range skill prevention(in a way “you are out of range”,ergo nothing happens)
As a result of this and other things in the early beta’s,thousands of players, utterly commoned with button mashing and skill spamming, who was trying to play thief, instead of being the badkitten Ninjas who they expected to be all ended hitting the air and constantly w/o initiative(and getting fully destroyed by anyone).
The game just was designed to punish spammers.
As a result this same forum filled with thousands of whine posts(one or two by me),who were demanding for buff, fix, rework, tune or whatever. Some of this request were somehow reasonable, but most were gamebraking like Perma-stealth and such.
So i guess ANet chose the least evil and change one thief skill to be spam-friendly instead of being spam-punishing…
It was HeartSeeker, which back than had a range 170(the range of the present LDB)
What they did is they increased its range to a value that will ensure all blows will deliver if you just spam.
So this take us back at the present moment.ANet KNOWS this skill isn’t OK,because back then it was OK,and they change it to please all ninja-wannabies until they are satisfied and hopefully some of them develop some skills. And when they deal with the acount hacking HS will be tuned back again where it was before .It’s a fact that they don’t have problem with reverting things(they changed C&D from 5 to 6 and reverse several times).

Faced a heartseeker spamming Thief who was lvl 80 on my lvl 39 elementalist in WvW. I won. When I play my Thief, I’ve never lost to a heartseeker spammer. In SPvP where it’s all level, I’ve never lost to a heartseeker spammer. It isn’t effective nor good. Only does decent damage when under 50% hp. Even then you’re often better off waiting till sub 25%.
Seriously you can just dodge, block or mitigate damage via protection till the Thief is at 0 initiative so easily.
Lol this is too funny, here thieves call noobs those who die to HS but then somebody specc himself to counter HS spammers and thieves start to complain saying that profession is OP

Even funnier is the lack of posts here complaining that professions that don’t die to HS spam are OP…
HS spam is bloody easy to counter. Chill, cripple, dodge, block, they all render it useless. Much prefer pistol/dagger myself.
HS spam is probably the worst thing you can do on a thief.
Sure I hit the HS key once when I need to close a gap on someone (better than dancing dagger now since nerf). Then immediately I will hit CnD→BS. Maybe throw in a DB if I see them about to use some major hard hitting attack.
The only time I actually spam the HS button is when they are below 50% and I have a lot of init to kill them with it.
I just think thieves get a bad rep because some thieves spec for glass cannon and use haste+other abilities and end up spamming HS from 100% hp.
Thieves like me who use HS for what it’s intended for get called noobs when they rack kills in spvp. I had like 15 something kills most games because I keep running up on fights where people were less than 50% and I finished them off in a few HS’s.
Usually i can faceroll hs spammers with pretty much no effort with S\D thief, they’re squishy as hell and totally predictable… You must try hard to get killed by an Hs spamer if you’re not at 30% hp with everything on cd… One, just one sbow #3 and they’re crippled, you’re out of range laughing at them jumping here and there, when you get bored of evading those unuseful hss you switch to S\D and faceroll them to hell…free honor for you

my thoughts exactly. the main thing i use HS for is as a gap closer, so i don’t particularly care if it actually does much damage, if any at all. once i’m close, there are much better options for me to work with.
Most qq i ever got for hs spam was whn i went into a empty server and had 2 hieves vs me only.those 2 bs thieves called me a nub hs spammer when I was running around with a shortbow -_- , so I equipped double dagger, found those 2 and had them in downed state and used hs to jump back and forth between them keeping them in downed the whole round lol.
you can spam at least 6 HS’s in a row.
Not sure if you know what “at least” means. 6 HS in a row would require some pretty good luck, even if a thief focused on using a power-based attack (HS) went deep into the Condition damage tree (Trickery) for the extra initiative pool. This is also assuming they started at full initiative and burn Steal.
Lol, totally understand how you guys feel. HS is really efficient as a gap closer, and sometimes when I press HS once, my char ends up doing it twice (I think I pressed it once..) and if my enemy’s at lower than 50% of health, they usually are, if I press 2, then HS will hit pretty hard. Then all the QQ will start, lol! Though I would admit, I always found it extremely amusing to hear dead people telling me that I’m bad for using HS like twice in a row… I mean if they were standing, it wouldn’t be as funny…
