I will be going with a P/D condition build thief, with SB for the off-hand.

In trying to decide which sigils to take, I wondered if it was worthwhile to put Sigils of Corruption on all 3 weapons.

In theory, this should get me to the max condition damage stack more quickly. However, is it overkill to equip three of these, and should I instead try to balance it with some other sigils? (And if so, what would be the best sigils to use?)

Many thanks for any advice you can give.

Max stack is 25 regardless of the number of sigils. So 1 sigil is perfectly fine.

Since it only effects the weapon you’re currently holding when you kill your target, and the majority of sPvP/tPvP kills will give you long enough to wait for weapon cooldowns, there’s not much point on having it on both weapons.

If you are swapping weapon, you want two. One on both main hands if swapping from say dagger dagger to short bow. One on the main hand dagger and one the bow.

Just for your information, it does not matter if you put it on your main hand or offhand as long its equipped you will gain 1 stack per kill.

Unless we’re talking early levels where you can use your sigils of corruption I’d actually recommend against this. I’d also recommend against speccing heavily into trickery without getting power until you’re level 60 (when you get your masters training) because you’ll need power a lot more then condition damage at first.

If you’re going heavy on the condition damage I’d actually suggest getting the Orr temple mortal armor as it generally has good stats. If you look around the temple karma armor all has different stats and you can choose the pieces with the highest condition damage then equip them with (http://dulfy.net/2012/09/08/gw2-templegod-karma-armor-sets/) That link gives you a in-depth guide into which pieces are needed and where you can buy them.

For runes I’d suggest throwing on 5-6 superior rune of the nightmare (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/Stacking-Sigils-of-Corruption)

(1): +28 Condition Damage.png Condition Damage (2): +4% Condition Duration.png Condition Duration (3): +55 Condition Damage.png Condition Damage (4): +6% Condition Duration.png Condition Duration (5): +100 Condition Damage.png Condition Damage (6): 5% chance to cause Fear.png Fear when hit. (Cooldown: 90s)

If this is PvP you’re gearing for I would heavily suggest not going for condition damage because as many have pointed out time and time again: condition removal is easy and will mitigate a large chunk of your damage. Condition damage is more of a PvE thing.

TL;DR

Armor: Orr Temple karma armor

Helmet-Armageddon (45)
Shoulders-Whispering (34)
Chest-Mortal (101)
Gloves-Whispering (24)
Legs-Mortal OR Whispering (same stats) (67)
Feet-Mortal (34)

5 Superior Runes of Nightmare (183) (10% condition duration)
+1 Superior Rune of the Krait (28)

+1 Superior Sigil of Corruption (250)

So with accessories to spare and 1 sigil to spare you now have a total of 703 bonus condition damage (yikes!)
