and common sense.

Using a d/p-build, I only see Steal as a way to apply swiftness. However, traited, Steal has a 20.75 sec cd, while the swiftness from it lasts for 13 seconds with Pack runes. Does this mean thiefs don’t have swiftness for 7 seconds?
And is this really better than using the 25% sigil?

This is only a issue if you’re running alone. A couple rune sets will actually extend it nicely for you and throw in a double dodge and your’e talking perma swift. I personally don’t care for it.
I already posted the duration with the appropraite runes and there is still a seven seconds gap. Obviously im playing thief to roam alone. I personally care for it.
Seriously, somebody with a usefull answer? Did they just nerf swiftness on thief?

Thieves never had perma swiftness through pack runes. One access for thieves to high swiftness uptime (perma if combined with TotC and a low cd heal is used) is to use centaur runes. You still get the power but lose a bit of precision. Couple it with withdrawal and you have 100% swiftness. An alternative is to use traveler runes (perma 25% movement speed). However, if you roam a lot, your biggest assets will always be shortbow 5 for roaming and shadowstep for escape/ gap closing.
10s+ swiftness from TotC is more than enough to roam with and if you are ever need to escape stealth > anything else as they can;t catch what they can’t see. Whilst if you need to catch, don;t forget steal is now a 1200 gap closer.

A bit disappointing to me, but much thanks for this well-written in depth explanation.
Remember to factor in the swiftness gained from being hit with pack runes. Not a factor OOC but just get used to using short bow.
If you were depending on dodges for swiftness in acro, that has been nerfed as well (indirectly).
i personally only care for my stats and boons in a fight, not ooc – due to pack runes you’ll have perma swiftness in combat if you get hit and use your steal frequently
I depend on perma ooc swiftness. Since this seems to be nerfed away under normal conditions, im out of this game for now. Specialization really killed this game, as expected.
Acrobatics gives a 50% move speed buff while stealthed and perma stealth is not that hard to get.
Swiftness on dodhge in the acro line warrants a 1 second boost at minimum.
We did lose two sources in that line one being assassins retreat and the other being the swiftness off the old hard to catch rarely used. That said the old acro line boosted durations of boons by thirty percent meaning overall access to swiftness dropped dramaticaly.
It does make me feel “clunkier” but I am managing.

that depends on the situation and the build tho
e.g. i play dd, if I’m alone without any mobs are walls i can hit, i cannot permastealth
d/p will run out of initiative fast if stealthing alone
etc
