Okay, finally hit 80 and retraited my thief from pve condition build to wvw burst (DD) or at least hoped it to be burst. I have played a few rounds in spvp before and was surprised that my wvw thief has only 36% crit chance with 20/30/20, armor doesn’t have runes yet and no consumables used. I had to put Hidden Killer -trait to get 100% crit so when hitting from stealth backstab hurts, without the trait backstab probably wouldn’t be that much of a threat.
So the question is what kind of stuff I need to get my crit rating to somewhere around the same numbers as in spvp (around 60% crit rating)? Most likely I also need more Hp so I need to give away something, but what? I don’t really know good my attack rating is for example…
I have mostly masterwork gear because I don’t have much gold and I don’t know yet which attributes I would like to focus on. I do know that in the end the player’s skill is what matters to most, I just like to tweak things on paper a lot.
food butternut squash or whatever its called will give you 100 precision which is 5% crit chance master maintenance oils which convert some of your toughness and vitality to crit chance it depends on where your points are with what you get. Armor doesn’t affect this just your traits point allocation unless there is a bug somewhere but from my testing armor has no effect on that food. That food will give you more than the other food maybe like 7-8% crit chance.
Then just put on all zerker if your focus is crit chance or rampager but you will drop crit damage but I think you can achieve the 60% or even higher in all zerk.

If you equip all soldier armor (for a bit more tufness and vitality), with beserker weapons, soldier spineguard with ruby jewel, and beserker trinkets with ruby jewels, and than add sigil of perception+sigil of accuracy, and use omnomberry ghost and master maintenance oil as foods, you will get this stats:
-2284 power
-13205 vitality
-66.4% crit chance
-+83% crit dmg (which means the crit multiplier is 2.33)
-2420 armor (1064 defense + 1356 tufness)
This is assuming you have 20/30/20/0/0, as you put in your post.
This armor is easy to get in the temples of Orr, ull need soldier pants from badges, the soldier spineguard you get in the temple of silence (the temple of grenth) and the rest of the zerker trinks and jewels in the TP. All this stats is with exotics, ure not gonna get this with greenery, so spend some gold…
Fortunately, if you’re mostly a w3 player, the itemization Eduardo rolled out is affordable if you get in the action. Aside from the back piece that’s exactly what I’ve ended up with just by obtaining what I could afford through badges and karma, with the zerker pieces from gold made by selling materials and other stuff on the trader. The stats you should end up with should be pretty versatile out there, you’re going to down players but more importantly you should have enough vit to survive those thief, ele, mes initial spikes and enough vit/toughness to bug out of a zerg ball if you have shadowstep on utility.
I don’t keep close track of my stats but rounding out I’m above 3k attack and at about 47% crit chance, but you’ll have the soldiers spineguard with ruby.
