Stealth Stomp and No Damage When Stealthed
- Thieves can stomp while stealthed because stealth is a class mechanic. This is different to a Necromancers Death Shroud mechanic because…
- Stealth does not equal invulnerability, Thieves still take 100% damage while in stealth and AoEing or even just auto-attacking a stomping Thief (or using ANY form of CC) will kill them very quickly.
Seriously, please do some research before posting ignorant garbage on our forum; there’s enough of it already.
all is vain
Yeah-no. I see the SR go up over the downed player, I know the thief is there and completely vulnerable. If the thief doesn’t bug out, there’s potential for getting the finish plus downing the Thief.

I pity all the “Omg Stealth Stomp” whiners…The time will come, when they will realize that Black Powder is roughly 1000 times better for stomping and reviving…

This is really hurting WvW.. Why can they stomp while stealthed? Necros cant DS and stomp anymore. Why are rogues immune to AOE damage when stealthed? Doesnt seem like a balanced mechanic. Please fix. Ruining WvW.
They aren’t immune to damage when stealthed, you can hit them and as necro you can use, for instance, marks and wells to hurt them without needing a target. Please, at least experiment and try out things and use your characters abilities before calling nerf.

The fact that you called them Rogues just invalidated all of your statements by itself, even excluding the fact that the rest of it was blatantly incorrect.

So are you claiming that DS is not a class mechanic, AND that it makes you invulnerable?
DS is giving You hell of additional HP.
Downing necro in DS is kinda hard when his not using any abilities in ti and using it only to stomp.

And so how is that any different than REAL invincible stomps, like Elixir S and Mist Form?
Except for the fact that you can CC the necro and they aren’t actually invincible.

just pointing this out, but stealth isn’t our class mechanic, just something heavily featured in our class. kinda makes the whole argument pointless. also, to address the OP it is basically like stability/quickness stomping, we aren’t the only ones who can do it, and we are far from immortal while doing it.

Rogues, scoundrels, WvW griefiers.. thieves. Sorry if I misused the class name in my initial post. It was late and I was irritated.
I understand stealth is not THE thief class mechanic, and other classes have limited access to it.. but we all know, thieves utilize it the most.
Culling (Yes, it is still there) plus stealth in WvW is very frustrating.
Stealth stomping (thief or no thief) is unbalanced, as the downed player and his allies have no way to know its coming, especially in a zerg-like situation. Throw in culling, which is extending stealths beyond their correct durations, and it makes the situation worse.
I understand stealth isn’t supposed to make you invulnerable. But when you combine high mobility and stealth with the culling issues, it sure makes it seem that way.
if you think stealth stomping is unbalanced, then what do you think about the more effective stability, invuln, and haste stompings?

You stop stealth stomping, then you should also stop Elixir S stomping, Mist Form stomping, Endure Pain + Stability stomping and more. You know, the ones that are LITERALLY unstoppable. All you have to do is smack your friend’s body a few times and a Thief comes crawling out of stealth. I’ve love to see you stop any of the ones I’ve listed by that same method.

I gotta stop you there. If you see a Shadow Refuge over your downed teammate, they’re most likely stealth stomping. If you see a theif disappear near your downed teammate, they are likely stealth stomping.
In those situations you can definitely do something about it. Heck if your gut tells you, give the area melee swing. If the thief is stealth stomping and you know he/she’s doing it, you can prevent it. CC them, preferably with a knockdown, or attack the area with Melee Attacks or AoE. The thief will either abandon the stomp, take massive damage, -or if CC’d- waste his/her stealth.
Also, if you’re downed as a Guardian, you can CC a stealth stomp with Wave of Light.

did the op get deleted or something cause I don’t see the op at first I thought loading made the thread rofl. Was there something important in the OP?

Yeah, the OP post is gone.
It was just full of whining about misinformation.

Mobility is not a factor when stomping, you know where they are and what they’re doing during a stomp, even if you can’t see them.
