Stealth help please
D/P is a heavy initiative build, so you I’ve fixed this for you:
What I did is basically remove all points from trickery to shadow arts for infusion of shadow, so you gain 2 initiative every time you gain stealth.
For more damage, and shutdown options (lotus poison) you could go:
Or take two in trickery for Thrill of the crime:
If you are inexperienced as a thief, the heal in stealth (first build) is a good way to go.
And as you have experienced your self, even with infusion of shadow, you can’t really spam 5+2 all the time. Watch your initiative, and always have a plan for your next move.

(also, I doubt you got ascended armor with ruby orbs xD) I could also suggest you changing those out to a runeset, more beneficial for you. Rune of the Pack or Rune of the Ogre are two good choices, and are not that expensive.
Pretty much what mompen said. I use 0/6/6/2/0 when playing D/P as I like the extra move speed, but that’s just personal preference. I use shadowstep, refuge and roll for initiative as utilities as RfI means I can recover easily if I blow all my initiative like an idiot. The extra snare/stun break is also very welcome.
Other than that it’s just a matter of getting used to the flow of the set, and remember that while we can just spam skills it’s rarely a good idea, take your time

Power Build Condi Build
i think the build is fine, save for the choice of traits (spread is ok). hidden killer is usually only preferrable if you have low crit chance (say, valkyrie gear), otherwise executioner will be an overall better trait. and i don’t recall the last time i thought “i wish steal had a longer range”, so i’d go with flanking strikes.
you have 15 initiative points, it’ll cost 6 + 3 = 9 to stealth, leaving you with plenty of initiative to work with. what you need to remember is that contrary to popular belief, thief isn’t a spamming class, it’s a scarcity class. you gotta keep in mind your initiative use so that you don’t run out of it at critical moments.
and don’t forget that steal will give you 3 initiative because of your point spread. the typical D/P combo is 5 → 2 → F1 during heartseeker. you’ll land the hit of the heartseeker, hit the mug, and enter stealth, provided you don’t miss the timing.
I prefer Hide In Shadow. Get stealth and remove condi.
