We should have regular stolen items, and elite stolen items from players that have specced into their Elite trait.

- Reaper: Death’s Charge or Infusing Terror (Reaper Shroud #2 & #3 respectively)
- Dragonhunter: Lay a Trap: Processions of Blades or Test of Faith.
- Daredevil: Endurance refilled entirely or a super vigor
- Berserker: a fiery axe whirl, or Flames of War
- Tempest: a fire tornado
- Scrapper: a Gyro…? or protection or stability
- Druid: Thorns latching on the target for immobilize
- Chronomancer: Alacrity + Plasma
- Herald: Either a good deal of might, or good deal of regen

Why?

Well I just thought having more Stolen Items would make the game more fun and more complex.
Don’t you think it’s lazy to steal a basic item from the Elite version of that profession?

Basic profession → Basic theft
elite profession → Elite theft

A long time ago, Steal in spvp used to be two possible items per class. And it was way worst than it is currently. ( stealing warriors could give you the riffle that knockback both you and the target for example )

I like the idea of having more stolen stuff existing in the game, but I don’t think it goes well with arenanet design philosophy for elite spec to have this " If I take the elite spec, thief gets a better stolen item from me " feeling.

Nice idea; would be a pain to balance though considering most ’basic’ steals are already very good & most thieves run double use.

It is true that Steal has improved greatly but it is hard to deny that there is no room for improvement.

The phylosophy Nocta put up seems reasonable but flawed, because in that case
The reverse psychology of " Let me steal this basic item from an improved profession" doesn’t fit either.

Elite Specialization are like new professions. Not only this is what Anet announced when it comes to class development, but they are even talking about Elite Spec logos (Scrapper already has one.)So in that sense, we need to stolen items from “new professions.”

Another important point. You shouldn’t consider the Stolen Items to be better. They are only proportionate to the context. A Thief should steal what is useful from him, if something is more “useful” or “advanced”, than he should take advantage of it.

- Plasma could never replace Stolen Alacrity
- Throw Gunk couldn’t replace a Stolen Gyro
(I would pick Gyro over Throw Gunk, but wouldn’t pick Alacrity over Plasma. Win or lose)

Calling it better completely depends on the context. Of course this is simply an idea and a rough draft and numbers have to come into play to make the effects reasonable.

I just think it brings in diversity and even more randomness into the gameplay.

Don’t forget that elite spec aren’t supposed ( practice will differ of course ) to be “improved” professions. It’s horizontal progression. So different stolen item should also be horizontal differentiation if they were to exist.

I disagreed with the idea at first because OP is only proposing clearly improved version of the current stolen items.
If it was well balanced, I’m all for it personally. I sadly don’t think Arenanet will take the time to create those. We still don’t even have a revenant steal. :/

It’s true I did push the “cool” buttons when I was having my epiphany, I had to get you guys excited! Well it seems are on the same page, because I believe it will take too much time and effort to concretize this.
