Streaming team practice - Skilled Thief Stream
S/D sucks so hard but you work it pretty decent.
Same switch and same way to play here, Could you please share your build ?
Here is mine (still testing):

Builds are updated in the description, I mainly use the roamer one.
About your build:
First of all, not sure what your amulet/runes are.
*15 in Critical Strikes isn’t enough if damage is the route you want to go. The 5% health bonus isn’t very strong with low precision. If you want damage you’re better off going full into Deadly Arts.
*Shadow Arts is a bad idea unless you’re venom share. Stealth duration and all that is pretty useless.
*Swiftness on dodge isn’t really needed. The 5 points can be spent elsewhere.
*In Trickery I’d probably use VII instead of shorter CD on haste. Haste is situational and not a spam skill.
*Blinding Powder isn’t nearly as strong as devourer venom, roll for initiative, or shadowstep/ambush trap. I’d suggest either roll or shadowstep in place of it for a stunbreaker.
*Dagger Storm is only good if you’re condi spec in a large fight. Thieves guild will almost ensure you win 1v1s.

amulet/rune are in the second tab.
My build is not intended for highest possible burst but more for high initiative regen and high survivability and aimed to 1v2, 1v3 or more rather than 1v1 this explain the choice of Dagger Storm which is by far the best elite skill for me.
You have some valid points though, i will consider roll for initiative instead of going Shadow Arts however since roll for initiative and haste are both trick skills the 20% reduction CD is a must have (gw2build info seems outdated).
Swiftness on dodge points can sure be used elsewhere.
It could be something like that:

If you want to be a tanky Thief, venomshare is probably the way to go. This build is definitely not that, with only 14k HP and 1,100 toughness I doubt you’d last long in a 2v1.
Daggerstorm isn’t practical even against multiple targets unless you’re condition damage. The damage without rabid amulet is really low. Thieves guild will give you good damage, a knockdown, and AoE blind.
As for using the 20% reduction trait, both roll and haste are things you use once in a fight. Fights rarely last longer than 30 seconds, especially as thief regardless of your spec. Bountiful Theft lets you steal important boons and gives you 2x faster dodge regen, dodge roll spam = win.
Edit: If you’re going into crit strikes you NEED berserker’s amulet. Divinity runes are nice because each one gives 3% (says 2%) per one, you get around 68% crit damage total.
High survivability is different than tanking (understand staying in melee) beware. (BTW the second template i linked is 18.7k HP not 14k HP, the site has some bugs so it is actually even more ~20K HP).
I strongly disagree on dagger strorm maybe you should go further on testing with it as it is definitely not low damage without damage condition, and it allows to counter distant skills and mesmer tactics nicely all that on a reasonable cooldown.
I also disagree on the second statement, 1v3+ and large fights almost always last longer than 30s from my experience, this is exactly why i choose the CD reduction over of Bountiful Theft. As i said i’m not targeting 1v1 with this build (i use DD backstab build for this).
I think we play the build slightly differently which explains the different conclusions we get. Your view is however very interesting and insightful, i already made some progress with my build so thanks for your time
