Suggestion: Give us "combat text" for what we steal...
Agree, 100% (if I could agree 200% I would). In the heat of battle you SS to your target, steal their ability and then don’t know if you should use it because you have no idea what it is until you mouse over it……..great suggestion!

The ability you steal depends on the profession of the target.
And I think in PvE, all mobs have a particular profession.
So the solution is easy: learn the profession of each mob in the game by heart !
A pig is a warrior.
A harpie is a ranger.
An elemental is an elementalist.
Etc.
Back to school.
Learn your homework.
This game is fun !

I fully agree… I know a few of the icons now, but in sPvP I could steal any one of 16 items, and right after shadowstepping into the face of a warrior is not the best time to hover over the little icon and try to read what the skill does. A pop-up in the vein of the combo field pop-ups would really help.
I don’t really want this because it adds a sort of randomness and the fact that I know most of the icons. I think Anet shortened the amount of skills from the BWE.
Skill will replace the need for combat text. In time, you too will know that an axe in your steal icon means ‘whirlwind of death’.
Come on guys… I know there’s a skill gap but come on, do you really think combat text is going to replace your memory? If you get something new, check the icon, then – after the fight – stand still, mouse over, and read all the juicy details of the item. Then go to the skill calculators online and make a build revolving around that one stolen item, and report it on the forums along with a YouTube video of how it kittens noobs.
