As the title suggests this topic contains my suggestion for a new Thief trait. The idea behind the proposed trait ‘Critical Eye’ is to give Thieves the ability to bring something to their party that will increase their party’s damage output and to increase the value of a Thief in parties, in hopes of reducing the likelihood of Thieves unjustifiably being kicked from parties for their class selection alone. While I understand this will not resolve the issue by itself it is my hope that it will help reduce the number of occurrences.
Critical Eye (the name of course could be anything) would in theory function like the traits ‘Empower Allies’, ‘Spotter’, and ‘Strength in Numbers’. When the Thief enters combats the trait would become active and increase the Ferocity of party members by let’s say 150 points (the amount could be a lower or higher number) who are within a Radius of 600. Thus increasing the damage output of the party as a whole and increasing their value. The trait would compliment the current meta gear prefix Berserker’s, used by a large portion of the community.
For balancing purposes such a trait would likely fit in the Grandmaster tier, though it could be argued that it should be a Master trait like the similar traits. As a Grandmaster trait it would make players have to decide between personal damage gained from Executioner or party damage gained from this proposed trait. Though as a Master trait it would exist as a more meaningful choice compared to others that exist in the category. As the name suggests it would be in the Critical Strikes tree, a tree almost always maxed out by Thieves.
As stated before such a trait would increase the Thief class’s value to their parties, one that unlike their Stealth abilities, and ability to easily apply the condition Weakness will be more apparent and fit into the Speed Run trend. This sums it up my suggestion for a new Thief trait. Thank you for taking the time to read this, your thoughts and feedback are both welcomed and appreciated.
