Plot Twist: Elder Dragons are massive robots created by the Black Lion Trading Company.
Think of the money they make off weapons and armor…

How about changing the functionality of steal to instead replace a random enemy utility skill with scorpion wire?
Or would that be op?

Knowing Anet they would actually fix scrop wire for other classes (sup gold spooned child of Anet aka engis).
Nah, just replace the error message with “L2P Noob! Don’t believe what you read in the tooltip.”
Or just make it become a knockdown because that’s all it does when it actually connects, never actually pulling to you.

A pull is also a knockdown, albeit a very short duration.
No, its a pull. Its supposed to actually move you, the knockdown is only a visual side effect.
Though setting one up before a gate is breached in WvW is worth some giggles.
The giggles quickly end when you realize you put an utility slot on a 30 sec CD for really nothing.
I started using it to pull the bomb on the south Tarir boss. It’s a fun and rewarding* challenge!
*May or may not mean the opposite of what is stated.

The funny (and annoying) part on how pull works in GW2 is that, when you use Scorp Wire, your target gets dragged on the ground and you’re lucky if you pull them at least half way. However, if you use Scorp Wire and it got reflected (i.e. Wall of Reflection) you fly up into the air and get yourself pulled instead. So why is our pull drags our target through the ground and doesn’t completely pull for 1200 range while the counter to pull lifts us up in the air to complete a 1200 range pull. Scorp Wire should work like the latter.
I run Scorpion Wire on my teef and it has it’s moments. It’s mostly a slow projectile, so you have to use it wisely or up close to keep someone CC’ed. You can also pull people from rezzing if they don’t have stab. Or my favorite, pull then steal to switch places. That’s always fun! :P
Scorpion Wire will be MLG in my book. It’s fun to use.

Although to be fair, I’ve seen some players that know how to make it connect more reliably. However, to what end? It is only useful in a small handful of situations, it needs to be better to compete as a utility.

A lot depends on what else traited. as example if trickery traited SW is a 16 second cooldown for a condition cleanse. You do not need a target just use it. If PI is traited the scorpion wire can than do another ~4k damage along with that cleanse. An interrupt is useful at any time.
If it WvW and you use an interrupt sigil you can then heal 1000+ off it as it does another 1k damage+, or steal a boon or get might. If they increase the reliability it a very useful skill. I tend to use it myself in WvW. It a pain when it fails to hit for no apparent reason but in my interrupt s/d build when it works it very nice.
In essence with those sigils it a mini mug as long as you time it to interrupt with a difference being rather then stealing TO a target where you might end up in traps or AOE you pull the target to you. That WHEN it works as it should.
The range is nice too. Few things in our toolset have 1200 range> My own high point is when I pull someone opposite a Cliff chasm that is between us wherein I get that interuupt for the PI and the fall damage takes care of the rest.

Since it’s impossible to fix they should just make the spear travel through a time and space vortex and teleport the enemy to you or it can just drop them off at the nearest cliff. :P It just can’t exist as a projectile.

This skill should work just like Spear of Justice works on DH minus the burns and tether. It can’t be that hard, right?
