Hello, new player in wvw, after being encourage and taking good advice from other players. I like wvw alot and enjoy my first experience with fighting with other players with the party. I don’t like to complain but i like to share my experience and take suggestion. Something happened yesterday which make me not happy and make it not fun. There was a thief in our supply camp who stop us from taking it back. The Thief keep stealth over and over again. After 5 minutes, we found thief and killed it.. What the players said, the thief rotate stealth around the supply camp.

It was fun looking for the thief because i like challenge but after more than 2-5 minutes, it didn’t at all. I don’t think that is fair because wvw should be about fun and good challenge… not to keep hiding for long time and prevent players from take camp.

2 questions— Is there any way to stop a thief from stealth too much like 2-5 minutes? Is there a way to force thief to fight, instead of run, stealth, run, stealth?

Any suggestion will help from thief players who stealth too much.

He cant prevent you from taking the camp while being in stealth. Same second he goes into stealth – bar goes up. Another clueless cry. Moving on.

I’m guessing what you are talking about is a thief using c&d as soon as he came out of stealth so he wasn’t visible long enough to lock him down and kill him.
If that’s the case someone in your group should have just layed down a stealth trap and then y’all could have had a good laugh.

Thank You! with the suggestion and some of the players from yesterday agree with you of what had happened. I shared this with 3 of my server Commanders and they advice me to not waste my time buying a stealth discruptor trap http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stealth_Disruptor_Trap because a smart thief will just run and teleport and wait until it end and re engage in stealth again.

So they advice me not to engage a thief in stealth without being in a group-zerg.

So the only way to kill a thief who stealth too much is with a group-zerg; even if it takes 2-5 minutes.

(i wish thief stealth last long like the stealth disruptor trap; 30 seconds)

Fun or no fun, challenge or no challenge, i’m ok with that i guess… for now.

You don’t need a group/zerg to kill a thief. And your suggestion is ludicrous to say the least.

Stealth disruptor is for that type is situation, not to be used in a fight. It’s the same if you flip a keep or tower and you know a thief is using c&d on the walls and doors to stay in stealth. If you force him out he will run or die and you have won either way.

Don’t stack up on disruptors thinking they will be useful in a fight. The only time you might have a chance to use one is against a garbage condi thief.

For anything other than those situations you need to learn how to fight against a thief. I suggest finding one and dueling with him until you learn how. Or play a thief yourself to learn their weaknesses. In a 1v1 a thief shouldn’t give you more trouble than any other profession.

SA thieves can reset combat pretty easily really, there isn’t that much you can do apart from use plenty of AOE and CC – or disengage yourself.
