Hello my sneaky friends!
I tested and recorded the movement speeds with and without travelers runes and signet of shadows. Test was made in LA, with a distance long enough to actually record something and short enough for the combat to not end before the finish line (with the exception of one instance)
here are the results:
out of combat
normal runes + sos 4.37 seconds
normal runes w/o sos 5.46 seconds
traveler runes + sos 4.37 seconds
traveler runes w/o sos 4.37 seconds
in combat
normal runes + sos 5.92 seconds
normal runes w/o sos 7.2 seconds*
traveler runes + sos 6.0 seconds
traveler runes w/o sos 6.13 seconds
*normal runes w/o sos would have been actually slower, but i ran out of combat before the finish line, but it really doesn’t matter since it’s given to be slower anyway.
The in combat recordings weren’t as easy to perform and record, and in one of them I’m running in a really small angle instead of dead straight. I’d say the 0,21 second difference in instances 1 and 4 is just an error in measurement.
So in conclusion, ladies and jellyspoons, whether in or out of combat, the traveler runes offer a “free” signet of shadows effect. Without the active part that is, but it isn’t that good anyway. Freeing up one utility for anything else is a blessing.

yep got 6 of these suckers. Was gonna get perplexity runes but this will work just fine, ill save perplex for my engi.
Travelers on Carrion. What sigils? Agony and… ? Force? battle? maybe Battle with shortbow or another p/d with earth and force… hmm
My thief got his MF set with Order of Whispers skin ready to change stats Since I already got a zerg gear, I’m thinking of making that set into a Carrion one too for a condition build swap.
Changed out divinity for these on a d/d backstab build i run. Scorpion wire means another combo, and most people don’t survive both hits.

Interesting, will consider this for my re-roll.
9/3/13 rip
If you like small 15 / 15 type fights. I daggerstorm into then out of the middle/sides with shadow return. Then find a easy class to kill (currently off to the side out of the aoes) and on the second push through, scorpion wire them off to the side (check there buffs/change to another character if needed), CD, Backstab, HS. Stomp. Any of my downs get res’d and its hard to stop since its off to the side and out of the way.

almost 6 gold a piece for just one of these runes and divinity is still as expensive as ever
Ferguson’s Crossing [MAIN]
In my build if I swap out my runes of divinity for these I lose a little bit of health and go from 100% crit damage down to like 96% crit damage. However i’m able to replace signet of shadows with something else….like assassin’s signet…which greatly improves my damage output. In theory it looks like a good swap. Things I don’t like though:
1. my armor has runes of divinity in them..spent a ton of gold on em and would hate to just overwrite them :/
2. can’t salvage my armor for the runes as i’m in T3 cultural which is $$$
3. Having a speed boost on a rune (especially newly implemented runes) makes me extremely nervous. These could get nerfed somehow and then i’m stuck with no runes of divinity like my old setup.
Think I might just stick with my current set up for now, i’m not daring enough lol.

True, true and true. Exactly my feelings as I was swapping my divinities off. I don’t have t3 though, but I lost a healthy 25g getting my old skins back.
I can’t say they won’t be nerfed, but at the time being, I can honestly say that getting the extra utility is worth it.

The new transmutation splitters remove the stat gear and the skins as well as the runes. You’re given all 3 back. I’d suggest buying 1250 gems and buying 10 tsplitters.
Once their 6/6 gets patched up, Speed runes’d be a good option too. Especially with the spare Vitality on a set of ‘em. They’re loads cheaper, too. Don’t get me wrong, I can definitely see current Traveller working for most any class, tbh.

Interesting…this might work well with my P/P build.
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.

Get out of my head, Sir Vincent. Was thinking a set on my Thief and Mesmer. Mesmer first, since Thieves at least pack a speed Signet.

Superior Rune of the Traveler + Signet of Shadows give 50% movement speed or not?
Movement speed out of battle is capped at 33%
Superior Rune of the Traveler + Signet of Shadows give 30% movement speed at battle?
Superior Rune of the Traveler + Signet of Shadows give 30% movement speed at battle?
No, whichever movement speed you have applied to yourself will overwrite the slower ones. If you were running Traveler runes and had Swiftness, you’d be running 33% faster because Swiftness takes over. Speed doesn’t stack, you don’t run at 50% with two 25% speed buffs.
