Takedown Build

This is an experimental build designed to help you land Fist Flurry. Things to note about this build:

— This build uses SA mainly to create a powerful opening and allow players to switch out the heal and last utility for more stealth. This build is also meant for dueling.

— The opening rotation for this build is Steal > Hook Strike (#1) > Fist Flurry. If FF hits completely and opens up Palm Strike, use it for the next hit to give your target a double PI. Assuming everything has landed, your target should be at least halfway to dead.

— Since this build is big on knockdowns, the best way to play it is to constantly interrupt your opponent through knockdowns. Your knockdowns are on short CD and do not have aftercasts. So assuming that FF is off CD, you can immediately use it the moment they get put on their kitten .

— If for any reason you are out of available knockdowns, you can use dash and vault to disorient players through positioning. You can also use dash to kite players into your Tripwire. Dash will be your main source of mobility unless you choose to use SB. However SB will keep your initiative drained.

— Impact Strike should be saved for when the opponent is ~10% of their HP. It is preferred that you wait until they are knocked down before spamming your elite. Otherwise you can use it to CC early in the fight.

— Channeled Vigor can be changed out with Hide in Shadows for more Stealthing. However, I highly recommend against it because CV has a higher HPS, especially when there is a decent amount of endurance regen with Staff Master equipped. Not only that, you have 16s to wait before a knockdown needs to be available so that you may land Fist Flurry.

— Tripwire can be changed out with anything really. Utilities I recommend are Signet of Agility for more evasion and smoke screen for a quick blind and smoke field. Otherwise your main sources of stealth will be Steal and SA procs. Since steal will be on 21s anyways, you have enough time to let Fist Flurry get off CD.

— Impacting Disruption can also be switched out depending on what you want to focus on. Staff master if you want to have more evades available or Escapist’s Absolution for reliable condition clear. Otherwise, keep it for better DPS.

As for anything else, feel free to play around with it. The point is and always will be diversity.

I use one similar for some time. Staff with hook strike works very well when one traits SA. All manner of runes can work with this build. Ie scholar as example as your opening you tend to have full health. Even trappers though you do give up some power as that extra stealth with the setting tripwire can gen another knockdown.

DH runes with Shadowtrap is some bit of nasty with this as well as it stealths you and you get 16 might stacks for that opening.

The build is a lot of fun. There a lot you can tweak in it for those wanting their own style (distracting daggers is a great complement skill too)

If Basilisk Venom is not up you can throw Impairing Daggers to immobilize your target , then steal and Fist Flurry. After the burst sequence the target will try to heal up and since Imprairing Daggers applies a -33% heal debuff, it helps a lot to finish him down.
