I think the 1 second cooldown on backstab is too much. I believe backstab should not have a CD just like it was before. That being said, there was a reason to add a cooldown on it (I disagree with this reason). Maybe reducing the cooldown would make it. Lets say 0.5 sec cooldown instead of 1 sec because right now, if you miss backstab you are most likely not going to land it and will need an other stealth to try to land it again.

Maybe remove the positioning bonus damage and make the bonus damage works on 360 degree

What do you think about it?
Any tips to land it more often in pvp?

The stealth attack cool down was unnecessary if not a direct ploy to force players to be completely dependent on Daredevil. It was a nerf to a class that did not need any nerfs to begin with. My tip would be for all thieves to band together to get Anet to remove it. But for some reason the community does not seem to care enough to do that, so i guess the cooldown is here to stay.

What was the reasoning for the CD? So far as I am aware Anet has not released any actual statement or reason for the Nerf, in any balance preview or in the patch notes.

They need to remove the CD since all stealth attacks already have an inherent CD tied to Revealed and access to that skill is on a limited timer.

Nobody really cares because everyone plays D/P or Staff, and both of those kits don’t really depend on stealth attacks with buffed AA’s and other skills (even before the ICD it was a damage and utility loss to Backstab with D/P).

Combined with the BV I’m pretty sure it was a push just to make absolutely certain D/D power is no longer playable and to kneel to our condi 3spam overlords because Karl thinks it’s great design.

When the AA rotation became a more consistent damager than Backstab the class reached an all new low. Backstab for most thieves now is just a bonus rather than a skill that players build around… sad, just sad.
