I imagine they’ll do something soon, just no idea what. Stealth is the biggest complaint on the WvW forums, it will get some attention sooner or later. They’ll probably do something with CnD since it’s the major offender right now. But just to be clear, no one has said anything official yet.

Could you elaborate on this a little bit? I realize you’re only speaking from personal opinion (and nothing official), but what do you think will happen to CnD? A nerf to the ability? I haven’t been around for much of the stealth “issues” that have come up recently.

I think they’ll give it a cooldown. If I were to guess I’d say around 6-8 seconds.

I think they’ll either nerf the one skill with a cooldown or nerf stealth via the revealed debuff (i.e. increase the duration).

I don’t even use stealth anymore, since the last change in the patch with no more aggro drop being possible. It never dropped aggro for me unless I worked to make it drop aggro, so I dont get the change.
Some people like it, but for me it is one less tool I used to have. The thief is not the thief to me anymore really, it is more like a duelist or something. Capable but a lot more dull than it was. I may go all ranged, not sure yet. I’ll have to see. It is less fun for me than it was.
Whatever further nerfs they make, it will never shut up the whining we hear anyway. It is a religion for some people. Sadly in pve we share the same rule set as wvw.
I’d like to see longer stealth times with reveal on damage. Thieves don’t feel very sneaky when the longest stealth we have is 15 or so seconds that taking up 3 skill slots….
a nice 30 second stealth with a 30 sec cd, that would reveal you if you took any dmg at all would be really nice. I would be able to run around wvwvw and scout/look for straglers and cheesy stealth spam tactics would be nullified by a single bleed/AoE from an opponent.

And Pistol/Dagger would become completely useless and Sword/Dagger would be inferior in every way to Sword/Pistol. No gusta.

Yes now it’s stealth. We had QQ about everything and a nerf in every patch in the first few months… now it’s a quite stable version and I hope they will not change it.
Players really need to L2P and learn to counter stealth and who says the opposite is just a bad clueless QQer.
You’re not going to see stealth changed(if at all) until after the next big patch. If stealth is still an issue after culling is removed then you’ll see changes. Personally, including stealth at all was a bad decision as it is always unbalance-able in any MMO. Instead they should have given us more evades, allows us to mitigate damage but without the giant balance issues of stealth. If we had an evade mode instead of stealth it would certainly make backstab damage a lot more fair.

I honestly don’t have a problem with thieves on my warrior in spvp.
I haven’t really done much wvw but my main is a thief and since I have played one so much I know exactly what to expect and when to go for the frenzy/bull charge/hb combo.
Killed a few theives that tried to stealth away because I followed them in stealth spamming auto-attack, etc. Blocked a few crucial CNDs with shield skill, etc.
You just need to know how to counter thieves. Just like you need to know how to fight a mesmer.
It would be nice if they changed cloak and dagger as currently a Thief fighting against a Ranger or Mesmer has the Ranger pet or Mesmer clones as easy cloak and dagger targets. It makes fighting Thieves as these classes rather frustrating as your class mechanic is benefitting your opponent.
Try your best to not make mistakes, but, when you do make mistakes, learn from them.
Better yourself.

It would be a neat mechanic if CnD missed Clones but still hit Phantasms. And maybe let ranger pets stay looked on thief if they were already targetting before hand.

would assume he’s being sarcastic as the dev’s are very happy with warriors and think they are the most balanced class lol:)
I’m thinking either:
- Players are revealed when an incoming attack lands
- The “Revealed” debuff is removed

- UI damage numbers displayed near players in stealth

2 makes a good deal of sense since chains skills do that as it is, option one doesn’t. If they did that they would have to revamp the way thieves take damage ie no damage in stealth and revealed if hit. Stealth initiative cost would have to be greatly reduced and builds like back stab would become non existent. Anything else would not just ruin the class but make it unplayable outside evade builds you guys do realize that right? PvE would become insurmountable as much of our passive healing comes from being in stealth. Stealth would also have to make you invulnerable to aoe skills as almost all pve content would be impossible to do with any build that relies on stealth.

I agree that one would be pretty crappy for thieves. If they did anything like that they would have to give them the first second or two immunity from it breaking and even then I’m not sure it’s fair … most stealth is 3 seconds (4 with shadow arts trait).

Numbers popping would be dumb. I would like to see the little black swirl you see when someone comes out of stealth.
At least then people would have to actually look. Numbers are just a no brainier over here I hit something.

to the OP nobody has said they are making changes to thieves stealth.
