Is this even Viable in Dungeons and fractals? Note I did not say speed-runs. Using P/D and D/D is the only way i can see getting enough bleed stacks to make it worth while. Also can’t decide if Malice or Stealth heal would work best. I can see where both have their merits.

Well technically anything is viable in dungeons since they aren’t really a challenge. At least very few of them are. So I don’t think you’d be straight-up kicked from groups for playing such a build but I wouldn’t expect much appreciation either since you’ll be dealing a fraction of the damage you’d be dealing with Sword/Pistol.

Necros won’t like you either for consuming so many Bleed stacks.

Other than that I’d have to see the exact build and gear choices to critique it fairly.

As for the heal, since burst heal is more often required than sustained healing I think you’d fare better with Hide in Shadows. But that depends on how effective Malice really is in practice and ultimately up to you to decide.

I also don’t see the synergy between Precision and Condition damage. Why would you want to stack them both? Also, with no Vitality whatsoever you’ll still find yourself constantly dead.

Overall, can it work? Yes, as can anything really.

Will it be viable? Depends on the exact build.

Will I be “useful”? Not nearly as useful as you could be with Sword/Pistol Power damage.

I see condi theif builds are only good for WvW, PvP, or low level open world grinding.

In Dungeons, other professions (necro/engi) can place conditions far more better and faster than you can. If there is a necro or engi in the team, you will be essentially doing little to no damage as they can keep the bleed stacks up by their own.

DB also makes you jump around, which sometimes may get you killed if landed on the wrong place.

Also as above, while playing condition, vit is much important than prec. Dont know why exactly would you want Prec for…

My suggestions is not to do that for dungeons to avoid kicks. If you have a group to do it with then its fine, or else… pray no necro or engi are going condi builds too.

however in WvW and PvP, condi thiefs can be good if you know how to play them.. since they are dodging every half a second, they are incredibily hard to hit.

It is of course viable in dungeons… it is just not the best option.

I’d go with dire gear instead. Thief doesn’t have that nice synergy between precision and conditions that Necromancer have. We have far more need for defensive stats in these kind of builds since they’re built around attrition, not bursting something down before it can kill you.

Condition thief are awesome and pretty annoying in WvW, useless in PvP and ok in dungeons. Necro and engie are far better choices for conditions, and you’ll do way more damage with berserker and S/P for dungeons

While Rabid has those stats I’d personally want some power in, P/D does also hit physical. P/D works ok in PvE, but it is slow and you’ll be eating up bleed stacks in groups and open world events. You can mix in (power and) precision for on-crit triggers, might on crit stacks both power and condition damage for P/D.
